Enjoying listening to the always inspiring Ellen Hardy @ruedixsept who is speaking at #re_enc22 on Writing Women Back In, the lacunae in existing texts & the work being done to remedy these gaps. Ellen is exploring the life of Hester Tradescant in her historical fiction @uealdc
@jennashworth Depending on what kind of abbatoir, the British Poultry Council organise an annual farm tour for producers, inc processing (lingo). I once went as a journo. If you asked they might well have you along or know someone who would. Farmer orgs can be useful: https://t.co/pSmCl5mwro

Hark back to 1950s Norfolk, as we hear from fisherman and folk singer Sam Larner singing ‘The Dogger Bank’. He reminisced of old folk songs, ‘we used to sing the chorus of them, then you’d pick them up as you went along.’ #FolkFriday
We are not able to strike at my university, but in support of colleagues, I will be observing a #DigitalPicketLine starting now!
Thank you to all of my colleagues who are taking part in this important action, at a personal and financial cost. You have my gratitude

I'm incredibly lucky to have caught @RebeccaStott64 before she left academia, and to have had eyes on this piece pre-recording. As thoughtful and inspiring as ever, if a(nother) sobering account of the state of higher education.

The excellent Sarah Moss on academic burnout and 'ancestors howling in our ears'... 'It seemed to me my low estimation of myself was correct... I didn’t think to seek help any more than I’d seek help for believing that rain is wet.' With hope for change.

@wesbrownwriter I skimmed it – probably worth that, though I think there are also some questions about journalistic responsibility in there. Apparently the woman pitched it herself, which suggests she is not quite sensible.
This series was such a joy and I'm thrilled Hanna is taking it to new heights. It was very popular with the @uealdc creatives and the programme looks great. Get in!
@uniofeastanglia @UnionUEA @StarUea Calling all UEA staff and students- can you help @TheGardenHouse5 create welcome packs for families arriving in Norfolk from Afghanistan? They need toiletries, treats & food items (with long shelf life)
