@Patticus Count me in to subscribe. Would love to hear how you reset your goals (and motivation) after achieving you've been working towards for many, many years.
@csavage I love, love, love hearing stories from your dad. I remember him telling me about Claude Shannon (who basically invented all of digital computing by showing circuits could perform logical functions) being on his thesis committee. As an MIT nerd, this literally blew my mind 🤯
@traceylindeman@traceylindeman This was done in the late 90's by 107.9 WENZ in Ohio. They played "It's the end of the world as we know it" for 24 hours straight leading to a format change. There was a movie made about as well in 2009 https://t.co/iazmq9pNXc
This helps them (@netflix) keep their viewers more continuously engaged with their best content and also gives users a reason to stay perpetually subscribed. (7/7)
Rather than dropping a full season of one of their anchor shows all at once…they move to a model where they are releasing a “mini-movie” once a month which substantially contributes to the overall narrative arc…(6/7)
This begs the question if @netflix might be better served to utilize a similar approach for content production and releases from a from a subscriber retention perspective, meaning….(5/7)
@netflix has already split season 4 of @Stranger_Things up into two parts with part 1 release on May 27 and part 2 dropping at the beginning of July….(4/7)
Personally, I have found this “mini-movie” format much more engaging. As a result, I have been more excited to watch each episode as it feels more like an event unto itself….(3/7)
What @netflix has done with the new season of @Stranger_Things is genius. The fact that they have expanded the format and moved to 70-80 minute episodes is amazing. It allows for more plot lines and more depth in terms of story telling…..(2/7)
@jayacunzo@birbigs Sorry for your loss. My oldest met my grandma when she was a baby, about a year before my gm died at 94. We took pictures, and shes asked to see them over the years. She talks proudly about getting the chance to meet her even now when she's 13 yo. Those moments make a difference.
@miketighe@wistia Hey Michael, thanks for calling this to our attention. The product team identified the issue from earlier in the day and deployed a fix. You should hopefully see it working now unless the file is still cached for you locally (in which case, try clearing the browser cache). Thanks!
We've been looking forward to this moment all year: we added podcast support to Wistia today! 🎉
So excited to be bringing the marketing-focused tools and features we've built for video to the world of podcasting!
Our CEO sent this video to all employees. It makes me so proud to work for @Wistia. I know not every company can do this, but if you're a biz leader you have a lot of power to help workers right now. Be bold and make choices you'll be proud of in 6 months. https://t.co/AUFEDwWrQc
Just pulled the numbers, and over the last month, we've averaged over 4 hours of new content uploaded per minute to @wistia. This is a little less than 1% of what YT receives (as best we can tell). I would have never, ever thought we'd even be remotely close to their scale. 🤯
A couple years ago, we spent $2 million on an ad campaign for Wistia.
We went big: web ads, NPR, billboards.
It was one of the most expensive mistakes we’ve ever made.
Over the last 9 months, I've been working with @wistia on developing an entirely new strategy and product category that will redefine best practice for video marketing. Tune in at 1pm ET/6pm UK to discover more #watchCTC https://t.co/aFwpO9tuZX
