@riyapatelru Hi Riya! I agree that the information we learned from this course was more than surface-level and it's amazing we were able to gain a deeper understanding of the technology most of us use every day. Good luck with the rest of the semester!
@Tommy_JT252 Hi Tommy! I totally agree with you. Before I didn't see technology as being disruptive but Professor McCormick did a wonderful job with explaining how technology is always changing and being disruptive to maintain their reputation among other popular businesses.
@PALLAVI2022 Hi Pallavi! That's amazing that you can take what you learned from this course and use it in your entrepreneurial journey. Good luck and enjoy the rest of your semester!
I enjoyed learning about the disruptive side of technology, which I was unfamiliar with before taking this course. I loved learning about disruptive innovation because now I understand innovators are always changing their products to stay relevant. #DCIM353McCormick
Disruptive innovation is one of the topics that will stick with me after the last day of class. It was interesting to see from a business point of view why innovators are always changing their innovations to stay relevant in the advancing technology world. #DCIM353McCormick
@riyapatelru I agree VR will change the way we consume entertainment because I'm already experiencing the effect. I watched a short film with VR at an art museum last summer and it felt like I was a part of the film. It's amazing to watch how technology is always evolving.
@StephenReaRU I believe consumers are already heavily relying on food delivery applications for groceries because of the convenience. I know many friends and influencers who share they buy their weekly groceries on applications like Instacart because it saves them time.
@RiaV123 I would love if the clothing and beauty industry starts to use augmented reality as an online shopping feature to make it easier to choose products that I feel confident. Target is already using AR to help consumers visualize furniture pieces in their house before purchasing it.
Instagram is going to be the new online shopping application! They have features where businesses can post images and add a direct link to their site. Recently my favorite YouTubers were launching a merch drop and it was exclusive for Instagram Shopping ๐ฑ#DCIM353McCormick
@naugle_lindsay I think cancel culture is unnecessary. I believe content creators should privately discuss their issues and figure it out amongst themselves as mature adults.
Cancel Culture is becoming a social norm on social media among the younger generation ages 18-29. There have been many incidents on YouTube where Youtubers "cancel" other YouTubers for their bad actions to keep them accountable. #DCIM353McCormick
@aayushi_83 Hi Aayushi! This is an interesting topic to write about because it's scary how accurate my ads are on my Instagram feed. You should definitely look into Instagram ads and the reason they made changes to become a shopping app and a photo sharing app.
@OakleyMastej Hi Oakley! This is a very interesting topic! I hope you integrate Blockbuster somewhere in your paper because that was the original spot to pick up the latest movies when I was younger. ๐
I'm researching the pros and cons of social media for my EDTP paper and if one outweighs the other. I believe users are easily able to find like-minded people on the internet than in real life but it's a source of anxiety due to FOMO or information overload. #DCIM353McCormick
@Helten_0301 Hi Keer! This social norm is unfortunately very true. I'm trying not to follow this norm, especially when hanging out with friends. It's the worst feeling when you plan to hangout with friends but they choose to hangout with their phones. #DCIM353McCormick
@aayushi_83 Hi Aayushi! I believe there are pros and cons to interacting with people online. It's a pro because we can connect with people from all around the world if we can't find relatable people near us. But it's a con because we lose interpersonal skills when meeting people in real life
@riyapatelru I believe the increase use of dating apps are reflected in the younger generation inability to have long-term relationships. We are caught up in the other person's highlight reel from their social media and are unable to deal with external issues that aren't publicly shared.
This class influence the way I choose digital information to consume, to share, and to use as resources for course assignments. The information analysis project was informative and shared how similar topics can be shared differently on different media outlets. #DCIM152McCormick
