The AI market is no longer a one-horse race.

Based on worldwide web visits to major standalone AI assistants in May 2026:

ChatGPT — 53.9%
Gemini — 27.9%
Claude — 9.2%
DeepSeek — 4.1%
Grok — 2.4%
Perplexity — 1.3%
Copilot — 1.3%

A year earlier, ChatGPT was around 79%.

The interesting story isn’t that ChatGPT is disappearing — it’s still #1 by a huge margin.

It’s that Gemini and Claude are turning AI into a genuinely multi-player market.

And enterprise tells an even more interesting story: Anthropic captured an estimated 40% of enterprise LLM spend, versus 27% OpenAI and 21% Google in 2025.

Consumer AI ≠ Enterprise AI.

That distinction is becoming increasingly important.

Claude Fable 5.1

Anthropic just launched Claude Fable 5.1 — and one detail stands out.

It’s not just about making AI smarter.

Fable 5.1 is built for long-horizon agentic work: coding, multi-step research, documents, spreadsheets and presentations. It comes with a 1M-token context window and up to 128K tokens of output.

But the bigger shift might be economics.

Anthropic says cheaper cache reads can reduce the cost of typical workloads by ~25% — and highly agentic workloads by up to ~45%.

That’s where the AI race is heading:

Not just who has the smartest model?

But who can make autonomous AI useful, reliable and economical enough to run all day?

The next frontier isn’t chatbots.

It’s AI doing the work.
