@zerodoubts0 cannon left mariah because she made more. wade made 5x more and still let gab pay half. same money gap, completely different egos

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@BRitanySHY what she did. the people who threatened him walked away with $10 million, and the one person who actually had a reason to talk stayed quiet. tells you who had integrity in that house

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@0xKyrex same week Paul Pierce is "drowning" after $200 million. the pattern never changes: the paychecks stop, the monthly bills don't

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@dntwsteurtalent that's the whole point. both rich, so it was never about the money. it was his ego, and instead of building himself up he tried to prove it with 12 kids

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

Nick Cannon divorced Mariah Carey. In the deal, she agreed to pay his travel and hotel when he visits their twins

Then he had 10 more kids with 5 other women

In the video below, he explains why he left: "The husband I became was Mr. Mariah Carey"

April 2008. They marry at her estate in the Bahamas. She's about a decade older and one of the best selling artists alive

April 30, 2011. The twins are born on their third anniversary

December 2014. He files for divorce

Asked to name the reasons, the first word out of his mouth: "Financially"

Asked if he felt he didn't deserve her: "Absolutely. 100%." "This is someone that is out of my league"

The settlement, per TMZ in 2016:
The twins live mainly with Mariah
He puts $5,000 a month into a trust for them
When he visits, she pays his travel and lodging
She signs a 2012 Ferrari over to him
Neither can let the kids call a new partner "mom" or "dad"

Their incomes in the filing: him $2.7 million a year, her $6.3 million

February 2017. His third child is born. Between June 2021 and December 2022 he has 8 more. Total: 12 kids with 6 women

His explanation, in the same video: he wanted to prove he could provide for a lot of people, "because for so much time I didn't have to"

Do the math. In the marriage he made less than half of what she did. In 6 years after it, he went from 2 kids to 12

The case for Nick: he says he went to therapy, still loves her, and calls himself "the low functioning individual" in his relationships

Could you stay married to someone who makes more than double what you make, or would it eat at you too?

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@Fmdazodman1 and that first husband was the head of Sony Music. hard to walk into that house as a 27 year old comedian and not feel small

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@kimmiintx lol he'd probably take that as a compliment honestly

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@LXPlLXP and the speed is what gets me. 8 of those kids were born between June 2021 and December 2022. that's not a phase, that's a mission

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@3StarLogo lol and when he does make it, she's the one paying for the flight

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@Veltrixmoon he'd actually agree with you. same interview: "I had and still have so many self-esteem issues"

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@1onetouch1 and he says it straight up in the clip: "I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it." most people would never admit that on camera

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@varnakis and on paper it was even wider. per TMZ the prenup valued her at $150 million, he walked in with a little under $500k

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@Petroomg47 that line got me too. right after it he says "this is someone that is more mature than I am." he was in his 20s marrying someone who already had everything

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@klilvi calling him dad on Rap City in 2007 and suing him for $51 million later. that old clip hits completely different now

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@lorneseth right? he swapped one kind of pressure for twelve. with just the twins it was $5k a month into a trust, I can't even imagine what that math looks like now

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@soncarius MGM almost cut "Over the Rainbow" because execs thought it slowed the movie down. that song still earns for whoever owns the catalog today, and she died in debt

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@soncarius he says it wasn't a competition to her, only to him. asked if he felt she didn't need him enough: "Absolutely. 100%"

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@xlarckk lol to be fair he admits it in the interview. asked if he could commit now: "I'm too far, too deep into the water"

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@Llinkoy this tracks with Gronk. he's the guy who says he never spent a dime of his NFL contract money and lived off endorsements. forgetting about equity is just on brand

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@Llinkoy he basically says the same thing himself later in that interview: "I'm the low functioning individual and I can own that." took him years of therapy to get there

[Rumi @RumiMirage]

@max_bankroll there was one, per TMZ. she came in valued at $150 million, he had a little under $500k. and if he ever talked about it, he'd owe her $250,000
