I find the quantity of passionate, almost aggressive, antagonistic, extremely ill or misinformed and unhelpful posts today regarding Trump, Vance, Zelensky and Putin, and, subsequently, Starmer and the European leaders, quite concerning.

I find myself asking what psychology is behind it. For example, nobody wants war, yet there are a plethora of allegations that some leaders are actively pursuing war with Russia. All Starmer and the leaders who gathered in Lancaster House today are trying to do is find a way to stop the war.

There also appears to be a highly vocal group of people, albeit a very small minority, who are totally blind to, or are for some reason ignoring the fact that Putin launched an invasion of a democratic, independent country. Instead they try to blame Zelensky. Zelensky wasn’t even the President in 2014 when Putin occupied Crimea and parts of the Donbas.

As for boots on the ground, that is not going to happen unless and until there is agreement for it to happen and such an agreement must, as the Prime Minister has said, involve Russia. If there is such an agreement and then Putin, in violation of that agreement, then resumes hostilities it would surely be he who is launching further aggression and risking war.

Why are boots needed? The are needed because Putin has broken every other security agreement either Russia or he has agreed to in the past.

Some people should perhaps calm down, think things through a little more rationally and, please, try to look at all the facts objectively.
