Update: This morning in Canton, OH, Emily Venters won her first national title at the @usatf 6K Championships against a very strong field. Elise Cranny was second and Annie Rodenfels third.

Venters clocked 18:08 and split 15:08 through 5K.

I listened to a podcast w/ @ProfTimNoakes . They talked about the elite marathoners breaking 2 hrs. They think the high carb concentration and/or w/ caffeine acts as stimulants through receptors in mouth/upper GI.

Bill Norris met Bill Bowerman in 1968. According to Norris, Bowerman took an interest in him, started planning his workouts, and invited him to compete in Oregon Dual Meets. One day Bowerman invited Norris over to his house for pancakes. Bowerman traced Norris’ feet and drew a rough sketch to create a custom pair of shoes for him. Bowerman built the shoes by gluing them together as opposed to stitching them. Interestingly Bowerman sized the shoes at the heels. If you look closely at the heels you’ll see flaps that Bowerman glued together to create a custom fit for Norris. Check out pics 3 and 4.

A throwback to my 6 Day World Best in March 2024 (3:17am 🌖!), breaking the 33 year old record formerly held by the amazing Sandra Barwick from New Zealand 💕🦸🏻‍♀️🌟.

I’m looking forward to giving 6 Days another shot this fall and going much FURTHER next year- to the moon 🦸‍♀️🚀🌖!
