6/ 13 months ago I couldn't run for 5 minutes.
Now I'm a trail half marathon finisher.

3 days later, I'm proud.
In the moment I was miserable tho...
Genuinely one of the worst experiences of my life weather-wise.
But the fitness didn't fail me. The training didn't fail me.
I chose hard. I finished hard.
June 2025 -> my first ever 5k run.
May 2026 -> soon my first ever Half Marathon
21km. 489m of elevation. On my 28th birthday.
Here's how I've been training for the hardest thing I'm about to do π§΅
Race day is May 10th.
I'll be posting the full update... how it went, how I felt, did I cry (probably yes).
Follow along if you want to see a complete beginner take on her first trail half marathon π£
And if you're also working toward something that scares you a little
My race strategy:
Power hike the steep climbs.
Run everything else.
Some people call that "not a runner"
I call it "I just want to get to that finish line in any way possible".
My goal is to finish in ~3:40 and actually enjoy it.
April running recap:
-been training for my first half marathon
-longest run ever done 11.11km
- tried trail a few times, harder than road running
- learnt about KT taping, will try it this month
Looking forward to my biggest and most important month in my running journey so far
