wow this blew up, just some context:

i use claude code extensively and would consider myself a hardcore power user

i stay in the terminal, i manage multiple agent sessions daily with claude agents and i also spin up more with web sessions (think of these like Claude's answer to products like Devin etc)

my saas has been getting a lot of traction lately and I ship stuff daily to prod/real users

i only ship stuff with Fable now - imo its the best model in the world

i've observed through real iterations that Fable, even on low effort outperforms Opus 5 on every effort

this has made me skeptical of benchmarks and cautious in trying new updates

i've had to throw out 90% of my dev workflows because these new models have different behaviour

and its becoming exhausting to re-learn the nuances of each one with every new update

i wish Anthropic would just give us more usage on Fable or a higher plan, I'd pay

some people think it’s my setup

I’ve been running production workloads since opus 4.6, literally built my entire saas completely with anthropic models

I can tell you that every opus version since has gotten worse in quality and personality

I no longer ship anything to my users with this model because I don’t trust it at all

Despite the recent benchmarks, Fable is still on a completely different level.

if you’re worried customers might vibe code your product then it’s a sign that you either

> need to become very specialist and niche down
> be crazy more ambitious and build completely new things

Let me break down both

Niche down or make your product specialised enough that your eventual pool won’t want to replicate all the work and nuances your product deals with

Your pool will be smaller but you charge more. Open up agent access and you’ll be able to serve enough people and still satisfy the ones who are on the fence about vibe coding

The best thing you can do here is take all your experience in engineering, design, product and build completely new products

The type which may have taken an insane amount of man hours without AI

Or the type which simply weren’t possible

This is more risk but higher rewards. You’re essentially seeking new markets

Traditionally people would say to avoid this and find what already works but now it’s completely bs

We’re in unchartered territory and no one knows anything or what’s going to happen

This uncertainty is ripe for exploitation

anthropic needs to hurry up and retire this model, it is painful to work with

i dont get why people think saas is dead

i have already signed up to 3 (customer support, affiliate, product analytics) to help me deal with growth

sure i could have vibe coded these but why the hell would i want to take on more cognitive load when i am trying to handle my own?

too much noise on this platform from people who aren't in the trenches

my only hard requirement now - your product must have first class MCP support

no way I am buying if it doesn't
