💙Long Covid Advocacy in Liverpool on an outreach mission at the International Congress of The Royal College of Psychiatrists. #RCPsychIC
As always, our aim was to engage politely and openly with those present. It was a resounding success... 👇️ 🧵
🗞️ Stop Press: MON 15th - We are coordinating an outreach campaign to the Royal College of Psychiatrists Congress to ensure the community's concerns about the framing of Long Covid are heard.
This is a powerful opportunity for them to #HearOurVoices

This explains A LOT.
Levinovitz's new book is called 'Demons by another name: Biology, belief & stories make us sick.'
It is clear that brain retaining fits the argument that he is making: that what was deemed as demons are still making us sick & the mind can miracle cure 1/8
We have guest writer Dr Elke Hausmann examining the controversial Levinovitz WIRED article which has sparked significant concern for its portrayal of Long Covid, recovery narratives, and brain retraining approaches.

@RBMD1982@AlanLevinovitz It is the opposite of curious and careful. It is a long and incoherent justification of his prior, unevidenced hunches.
Many patients and families feel betrayed by their representation in this piece. They know much more about the condition than the author.
@awaisaftab@AlanLevinovitz It reads like Daily Express journalism:
"Can it be a coincidence that...?" "Then there's the amazing story of..." and best of all:
"Here I am, writing in a major publication, being silenced!!!"
Astonishing from a philosopher of education.

@TallyCat8@BBCNewsnight I voted for him as a Labour member, believing he would fulfil his pledges. He lied strategically, cynically and comprehensively. He destroyed internal democracy in Labour. No wonder I and at least half the membership has joined the Greens.
@phil_1965@SunlitUplandsUK@Telegraph I also have an electric car, which I can charge entirely at the 7.5kW/h rate. This means 2p/mile driving costs (negligible tax and servicing).
Together, it makes huge savings. Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology will utilise car batteries soon to even out supply peaks nationally.
📺️ Fantastic interview with Dr Rupert Higham from the Institute of Education at UCL and Prof David Putrino 'On Medical Education for Long Covid, ME and IACI'
It is divided into short named chapters for accessibility and there is also a transcript. #LongCovidAwarenessDay
