BREAKING: Democrats hit Donald Trump with nightmare news by unveiling a new task force specifically designed to fight the "harm" being inflicted on America by the MAGA regime.

This is the last thing that Republicans wanted to hear...

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced the formation of the Rapid Response Task Force and Litigation Working Group in a a "Dear Colleague" letter.

The task force will support Democrats' "ongoing effort to push back against the far-right extremism that is being relentlessly unleashed on the American people."

"We are engaged in a multifaceted struggle to protect and defend everyday Americans from the harm being inflicted by this administration," wrote Jeffries. "As outlined last week, it’s an all hands on deck effort simultaneously underway in Congress, the Courts and the Community."

Crucially, Jeffries vowed to do what Republicans refuse to do by actually focusing on the needs of the American people. While Trump is busy gutting the government and lining his cronies' pockets, Democrats are doing their job.

"House Republicans and the administration have done nothing to lower the high cost of living. The cost of groceries is skyrocketing," wrote Jeffries wrote. "Meanwhile, Republicans continue to launch far-right attacks on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, public safety and the education of our children."

"The American people are counting on us to stop them. Thank you for your continued leadership during this perilous moment. Together, we press on for the people," he wrote.

Jeffries has asked Assistant Leader Representative Joe Neguse to chair the task force with Representatives Gerry Connolly and Jamie Raskin as co-chairs.

BREAKING: Donald Trump's week starts off with nightmare news as Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes requests access to Special Counsel Jack Smith's case file on his election subversion prosecution.

And it gets even better...

"Today, my office has one of the only remaining cases that includes charges against national actors," Mayes wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland. "I have held steadfast to prosecuting the grand jury’s indictment because those who tried to subvert democracy in 2020 must be held accountable."

Mayes stated that she previously requested access but was denied. Now that Smith's case has been dropped, she is once again asking for access.

"Undoubtedly, disclosing Special Counsel’s file to my office will help ensure that those who
should be held accountable are," she added in her letter.

Those in her crosshairs include Trump's White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and MAGA goon Rudy Giuliani. There are 16 defendants in total accused of charges stemming from efforts to subvert the election in Arizona as well as the Republicans who submitted a false document to Congress declaring Trump the victor in Arizona in 2020.

Although Trump himself is not a defendant in the case, he is referred to as "unindicted co-conspirator 1" in charging documents.

Because Arizona has a statute of limitations of seven years on most felonies, there is a scenario in which Trump faces state charges in the final year of his upcoming presidential term — leaving him little time to pull the levers of power to save himself.
