Obviously if you were buying physical you get fucked.
The question I haven't seen a lot of people ask is what happens to the countries that aren't supported by PSN...
Serious question, this means the PS6 is probably all digital and if so what’s going to happen to people who own mostly physical ps4/ps5 games? Is their going to be some way to keep those discs working going forward and or those owners fucked.
You know WHAT Hunters...
I don't see nearly enough people taking advantage of the sheer disgusting ability gunlance has to absolutely dominate multi monster encounter scenarios!
It's just INSANE! Check the freaking clip and grab your boom-sticks.

Seeing a lot of discussions about whether you should be fighting for physical OR better digital customer rights. It's honestly heartbreaking that even some larger accounts seem to use physical media as a sacrificial lamb to further the fight for digital rights when we should absolutely be doing both. It's not an either-or. We should stand united on all fronts. Customer rights in the digital space are basically non-existent and there desperately needs to be change.
But no legislation, no lawsuit, no government intervention will save certain properties only physical media possesses.
No law will fill presents at Christmas.
No law will make the eyes of kids shine when they unwrap it.
No law will populate fairs and conventions where you trade games and talk to friends or likeminded players.
No law will let you browse shelves.
No law will save retailers when they have nothing to sell anymore.
No law will give you that feeling when looking at your collection.
Stop belittling the fight for physical media. Stand united with your fellow players. In the end, this affects us all.
Beast of Reincarnation is out of stock in certain stores. Not the first physical game in recent months that can't meet demand. We saw this for Capcom titles as well. Shows another reason why sales numbers don't tell the full picture when it comes to consumer preference.
the theater kid improv lead.
went from fake DRM outrage to dying media performances he built an account around.
if you see his crybaby ass, be sure to ask how that DRM protest went 😭
Physical games existed before digital games.
Physical games were (and still are) very profitable.
When companies went digital (more than a decade ago), digital games should have been cheaper than their physical counterparts (newsflash, they weren't).
Now somewhere, in this person's addled brain, they believe it logical that physical games should increase in price.
No sir, you got that wrong, digital games should have been cheaper DECADES ago, these corporations have been racking in RECORD PROFITS for fucking DECADES and we didn't do anything about it. (remember the days when gaming was niche? This industry is now bigger than fucking hollywood).
The bigwigs behind this industry then did a piss poor job at handling those record profits (concord, suicide squad, skull & bones, redfall are just some recent examples). They managed incredibly successful studios with the strategic acumen of a toddler trying to raid a candy store (leading to an inconceivable amount of talent loss & brain drain in the industry).
And after fucking up this industry with COLOSSAL FAILURES they ONCE AGAIN, turn to us to foot the fucking bill.
Well sir, you've done a fairly cold, analytical analysis of corporate financials (after their repeated failures).
Allow me to do mine...
I don't give a fuck about how much profit a corporation needs to make to appease their shareholders unless that corporation is looking out for my best interests.
You did your best to present this whole argument as simple business transaction (especially in your replies) and that's exactly what this is.
If they're not giving us what we want, what good are they for? We've already seen they are incredibly incompetent at managing the RECORD INDUSTRY PROFITS we allowed them to have, why do we need to support said incompetence if they're not even providing us the products we want?
Corpo guzzling in 2026 is crazy, especially when trying so hard to appeal to cold hard logic that falls apart with surface level analysis.
There is a clear, yet never discussed omission in the cries over PlayStation ending physical media. And it also reveals how self-centered these players are – even as they claim Sony to be some hive minded capitalist evil.
As is now well known, when a physical game is sold both the publisher and platform receive less than when a digital entitlement is sold.
At the same time, the players spend the same – and as they say, players actually get more than when buying digital.
Where is the “missing” money? It’s spent on manufacturing a disc, shipping a disk, managing costly returns, defective disks, stolen disks, etc. And that’s before accounting for grey market sales.
What happens normally when a version of the same product is less profitable than an otherwise identical good? It is sold for more.
What happens normally when a version caters to a hyper-passionate niche? It is sold for more.
What happens when a version – again, to the claims of its ardent buyers – has more value than the (allegedly) inferior alternative? It is sold for more.
This is point number one. The very players who are offended by the loss of an option that they, a self-professedly valuable customer group that is actually marginal on the whole… refuse to actually pay for their preference.
In fact, they expect everyone else to pay for that preference.
Gamers will whine saying “it’s good business to practice to do well by your fans.” Sure.
But it’s not “good business” to monetize your most passionate players the least, divert profits to disk makers and retailers not gamemakers or platform subsidizers, let alone offer the “best” version of your product at the worst economics.
If Sony were the capitalist evil physical media fans claim it to be… well, there’s an easy answer!
If Sony could make as much, or more money from those goods, well then by definition… they would do so!
If these customers were, in fact, as valuable as they profess… Sony wouldn’t do this. But these players are in fact Sony's lease valuable customers. And those who purchase a physical disc via resale aren't even Sony's customers.
If these customers valued physical as much as they profess… they would pay more! The issue is players want their cake and to eat it to. They refuse to put their wallets where their mouth is. Instead, they want Sony to pick-up the check.
And it’s not just Sony. Small studios don't do physical because it is expensive. Even CDPR has to PAY publishers like WB to make and distribute physical discs on their behalf, meaning their margins are even worse than those of Sony or WB with their own games. But again, players just want to say – "deal with it!" Indefinitely!
And that’s the problem .
There is a global omni-industry (and omni-consumer) abandonment of physical media. Games used to be a tiny fraction of a very large global disk manufacturing and global disk drive manufacturing business.
It’s all going away.
That means games hold more and more and more of the cost burden.
Sony didn’t abandon Blu-Ray (a format they pioneered) in 2024 to screw gamers, they abandoned it because not enough people bought Blu-Rays.
And that same dynamic means ALL the factories that built Blu-Ray drives and Blu-Ray risks sit mostly unused, costlier per unit than ever.
But gamers? Again, unwilling to cover their share. Happy to receive the subsidy of the global supply chain of the 2000s and 2010s, but now that it disagrees with them, they still refuse to pick up the tab. What narcissism.
Do you want to be pro dev? Then tell Sony you will cover the extra costs of physical in your own pocket. If you're unwilling to do this, you're selfish, demanding the rest of us cover the cost of your hobby.
"streamers like Ruri continued to take the sponsorships"
- here, where the context of the previous post implied I was taking multiple sponsorships from publishers that released "incomplete games on disc, mandatory downloads, digital-only releases".
You can debate bro all you want, but you said what you said.
Also, I didn't stop buying physical games, and there was never an implication that discs would stop being supported entirely.
In fact the main reason consoles were my primary platform is specifically because they supported physical media (steam codes are infinitely easier to get).
What you are saying not only did not benefit me, it was actively harmful for my career. But I wouldn't expect you to understand the concept of integrity.
The lie is in the implication that me taking sponsorships is a regular occurrence. You know what you typed, you just don’t have the integrity to stand by it or admit you are wrong.
As for game codes, I have no idea, a lot of them, I also got a PS5 and a PSVR2 unit to review, this is all public information, what’s your point?
@cupid6898@Ashura_01@JNavok@SmashJT I’ve had 2 sponsored videos in the last… decade… (both for a game with a physical edition)
Lying for internet brownie points is crazy.
