Most of the commonly known moonshots were built on top of institutional research.
Google poured billions into AI research and the Transformers paper, and OpenAI and Anthropic captured the value.
The US government developed the first version of the internet, on top of which Google, FB, Amazon, and all other internet companies were built.
The Indian government built the foundations with Aadhaar and UPI, on top of which India's current gig tech economy was built.
Xerox built the GUI; MS and Apple took advantage.
AT&T built the transistor, but it was productized by Sony, IBM, etc.
Research and experimentation are about creating value, which requires a ton of capital and time. Productizing research is about capturing value. Any new startup should focus on productizing new research rather than investing in moonshot research itself.
So, criticizing startups for not investing in R&D and building moonshots is quite foolish.
the anxiety attack when a big customer leaves a "hi" and u r not sure if they wanna upgrade or leave a gut wrenching feedback .
and then while u r thinking this, the phone starts ringingg
@jaybardhan cross border regulatory processing time is not a tech issue, its more of an incentive and trust issue. we export tons of yarn and saying this from experience.
@prakdadlani@jaybardhan@Ajain112@alysha_lobo@maahirpanchal Built an AI tool being used by 1000+ MSMEs in India in just 3 months of launch. while tech and marketing industry is saturated, lot of scope to build AI for manufactureres and MSMEs in India.
@kanth_mayur@zerodhamarkets lmao, indians are so lethargic. ab mfg bhi neta aur babu kare. janta toh sirf fruits of labour k liye hai. jaisi janta waisi sarkar.

got a little momentum need to carry this forward!
Charlie Munger's advice to Flexport CEO Ryan Petersen: โThe key to success is dumb competition.โ
โI always say that to people who are building AI companies. What a nightmare. Your competitors are literally AI geniuses.
You should find a way to apply AI in some other domain so you're not competing with the smartest people on planet Earth.โ
