@BBCMoreOrLess a bit of confusion about who was coal free. You correctly stated Britain was coal-free but your expert spoke of the UK. Kilroot coal power station was operating. In Northern Ireland. Which is the UK if not Britain, but British.

@chriswalsh28 @PhilipIngMBE @BorderIrish It's a DC link, so losses are low, like the east-west interconnecter from Rush, Co Dublin to Deeside, by Liverpool. The EU are very keen on these as they are environmentally beneficial.
