This morning,

CP Vincent Sano, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, received a firefighting truck donated by Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL), at the Rwanda National Police General Headquarters in Kacyiru, Kigali.

He noted that the truck will strengthen fire response capacity, helping protect lives, property, and improve public safety as the country continues to grow.

Four takeaways from the Executive Director's words as he opened the workshop:

💧@Rusumorpcl stands as an example of regional cooperation in action, a flagship project showing how shared water can deliver clean energy, tangible socio-economic gains, and solidarity across NBI Member States.

💧Rusumo’s sustainability, however, depends on accurate, timely hydrological data from its catchment rivers, enabled through coordinated monitoring, shared information, and collective responsibility across borders.

💧Transboundary challenges call for transboundary solutions. Strengthened hydrological services requires robust institutions and sustained regional collaboration. No single country can do this alone.

💧This 2nd stakeholder workshop marks a shift from dialogue to delivery. Progress has been made since the 1st meeting NBI convened in May 2025, reflecting the collective commitment of all partners.

On Dec 6, 2025, RPCL Board of Directors attended a farewell party and celebrated the new management. @eric_muganwa committed to strengthen RPCL team building, “together, we will hold ourselves to excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement”, he said.
