We need to stop allowing Freedom of Movement to be framed only as immigration.
For British people it meant 30 other countries in which we could live, work, study, build a business or retire.
That is opportunity.
And we should want it back.
A&E Preston absolutely full. Lots of patients in corridors and a big queue to book in. Lady on the desk asked that those not patients should give up their seats to patients. A young girl with a grazed knee was waiting to be seen!
@MichelleDewbs Young people didn't get the vaccine "over & over". Older people did. And they have seen no increase in cancer rates.
The increase in young people has been going on since well before the pandemic
@Mistsandgrass@1goodtern Pneumonic not so easy, though, as I understand? Especially if it's already out in communitu. Treatment essential within 24hrs... assuming, as you say, not resistant 😱
Please don’t get your Covid advice from
@GMB This is Dr Hilary banging on about herd immunity. Ask yourselves … do you seem to be getting sick more often since Covid began? Do you realise you are getting Covid 1/2 times a year, every year & the media aren’t reporting on it?
🔴@Helen_Whately, Shadow Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, has claimed £2 MILLION expenses in 10 years.
£300,000 relates to her own travel and accommodation - yet she only lives 50 miles from London.
Her boss, @KemiBadenoch has 3 children, claims £2.7K per month to rent a 6 bed farmhouse & tried to claim expenses for a family holiday.
The country can't afford these @Conservatives.

In 1979-80 the cost of local authority elderly residential care was £63 per week, which was 58% of an average wage. In 2026 it is £1298, or 184% of an average wage.
Privatisation of care is basically a letter of marque. Licence for the depraved to prey on the desperate.
Surprising message of the day!
Eliminating infectious children from the classroom helps the individual child to recover, and it protects everyone else from infections.
Well done this preschool! 👏👏👏
Why did @BBC have Reform on their programme today and not someone from the Greens? It really is becoming Reform TV. They don't need to spend any of the £75 million donations on PR because ALL the media do it for them for nothing.
Two years ago the reflecting pool was reflecting, the East Wing existed & was welcoming visitor's to the People's House, The Kennedy Center was financially stable & thriving, gasoline was more affordable & the USAID was saving human lives.
We don't have to live like this. VOTE
REVEALED: The government quietly scrapped plans to prepare the countryside in England for wildfires. This was despite new data showing fire crews do not have the proper protective gear to tackle them.

When I was hospitalised with Covid in 2023 I also had double pneumonia and they believed I had two Covid variants within those two weeks and then I got the flu 4 weeks after. I was very lucky I didn’t get sepsis - my body temp went to 42. Covid is no joke, and not a “cold”.
Kemi Badenoch says what is going wrong with Britain's economy is the “huge number of people who can work who don't work”.
Laura Kuenssberg repeatedly asks her a very simple question: how many?
Badenoch says the Conservatives have the data, but she doesn't have it with her.
She then pivots to disability, “One in four people in our country reporting as disabled. That cannot be right.”
My view: Why has Britain become so much sicker?
Long-term sickness-related economic inactivity increased substantially after the pandemic.
Covid did not simply disappear when politicians stopped talking about it.
Long Covid can leave people with disabling fatigue, breathlessness, cognitive problems, pain and other symptoms lasting months or years. Around two million people in England and Scotland were still reporting Long Covid symptoms in the last major population estimate in 2024.
Add NHS waiting lists, delayed diagnoses and treatment, worsening mental health, musculoskeletal conditions and other chronic illnesses, and it is not difficult to see how more people can end up too unwell to remain in work.
Yet at the same time, Covid surveillance has been scaled back dramatically and Long Covid has largely disappeared from mainstream political discussion.
So Badenoch is right to ask why so many people are now living with disability and long-term illness.
But that makes her failure to quantify the supposedly “huge number” of people who are perfectly capable of working but simply do not even more important.
Being disabled is not the same as being unable to work. - Millions of disabled people already work.
And being economically inactive because of long-term sickness does not automatically mean someone could simply return to work tomorrow.
If politicians genuinely think Britain has too many people becoming sick or disabled, the answer should begin with prevention, healthcare, treatment, rehabilitation and making workplaces more accessible.
The question should not just be, “Why aren't these people working?”
It should also be, “Why are so many people becoming too ill to work in the first place?”
Reasons besides the obvious why we should all hope the pneumonic plague doesn’t spread outside of Russia.
5 years of mass scale immune damage from Covid.
Complete deterioration of public health and public health messaging.
A population that is opposed to any mitigations that might protect them, like masking.
Pre-established campaigns aimed at undermining of scientific messaging led by armies of bots and trolls.
We’re not ready for a virus that causes hangnails let alone this. Fingers crossed.
Sorry I need a massive favour. As it looks like there may be more small boat activity off the coast of Hampshire tonight, please can everyone stop sharing the link to my RNLI fundraiser at https://t.co/ddUTbh62sR just for a few hours so it doesn’t cause any undue distress or upset for those who are protesting. Thanks for your understanding in this matter - I’ll let you all know when it’s safe to share it again.
It has now passed £411,000, which in itself could be triggering for anyone who is anti-RNLI.
@GSmokesweed1#menucall Mini scallops & salad leaf starter, Chicken thigh, butternut squash & courgette casserole with potato croquettes. Dessert was warm apple sponge.
🔴KEMI BADENOCH: Expenses
'As @KemiBadenoch outlines plans to cut housing benefit should the Tories return to power, a small summary of her expenses:
• £2,700 a month to rent a grade II-listed farmhouse with 6 BEDROOMS
• £3000 in ELECTRICITY EXPENSES
• £4000 for COUNCIL TAX
All courtesy of taxpayers.' - @Tush27J@BenClaimant@johnpringdns@Conservatives
Here's what "living with Covid" looks like
"The world’s biggest killer is ischaemic heart disease, responsible for 16 percent of deaths.
It has seen the largest increase in deaths between 2000 and 2023, up from 3.0 million to 9.5 million."
Wow. 😮
