@FaytownHog@MrTbloke@schadjoe US took the same interest in 2014, when the world cup was in Brazil. It was entirely based on USMT having a good run. Lots started calling it Futbol and then didn’t watch for 12 years. It will be the same here
@rationalhumanis@AndyR2r13x Please wise American, tell us how to stuff more adverts into our sports. Should we also remove half the professional clubs altogether and give our football clubs tax money to achieve the stadiums.
@mmcmahon09@CryptoMichNL Even the collateral is an unusual situation. It holds that value as long as they don’t touch it. If they ever became a seller the prices would fall quickly
@AmericanMagpie As an Englishman, I have to agree. It seems the same people who complain that “it’s coming home” should be taken seriously don’t give Americans the same benefit
@NobletStrength If the US put their sporting infrastructure at school and college level behind soccer they absolutely would. But some of the athleticism you refer is based on athletes who are looking to max out particular attributes like a WR. They would just be too big and heavy for football.
@boricuafudd@SteveDavies365 How do you think these things are unaffordable. A dryer can be delivered next day for like 2/3 hundred pounds/euros. People outside of cities own cars, we just don’t have accountants driving Ford F150s for no reason
@WestSonRises@nqatpod Definitely, wasn’t questioning the use of it so much, but does make financing a stadium easy. In Europe we also have relegation, which makes the bottom end of a league exciting, but is a wild business model that can greatly reduce the number of seats needed. That and more teams.
@bainbridger1984@sourpatchlyds@HistoryWJacob You don’t also see that someone initiated in NFL could watch a few mins of set up before a short play that results in negative 2 yards and an advert break could also take this view? Sports are enjoyed by those who know what is being done by the players.
@WrexhamTN@CFChasbulla@Andriy1927 You don’t think fans were enjoying being on the Copacabana in Brazil or in Japan for football or rugby like this before?
@AngryBootneck Your point is essentially, it’s nice that Europeans are learning all the bullshit information obtained from social media is wrong about America, but that’s surprising because of all the bullshit information you’ve obtained from social media about Europe?
@NamelessNamel20@barstoolsports This is why American chants don’t work. You never go for something self deprecating or silly, always to some form of ‘we’re great’
@saiyan_danny@BarryOnHere We like to watch player on the ball and the build up of pressure. Basketball is 80% scoring immediately after your opponent. It has less intensity as a viewer, which is why the same teams will play each other 7 times in a row during playoffs
@Deek161473@barstoolsports Most sports are enjoyed when you know the nuances of how it’s being played. NFL is mostly setting up in formation and players have very limited roles compared to football. It’s enjoyable when you know the tactics behind it
