@reserveprotocol is voting on two alternatives to its paused, time-based treasury $RSR unlock.

Burn Gauge would link treasury burns or unlocks to protocol-driven RSR burns, with holders resetting the policy quarterly and extra unlocks requiring treasury burns. @DRF_hq proposed the burn-to-unlock link.

Milestone Plan would make up to 3B RSR eligible at $2.5M in Net Annualized Recurring Revenue, then automatically release it within a $0.005-$0.015 30-day average price band, valuing the full amount at $15M-$45M.

Confusion Capital proposed both and pledged to adopt the qualifying outcome, though the commitment is not enforced onchain.

Choices stay encrypted until close. Burn Gauge: 20 wallets have cast 333.8M VOTE so far, reaching 33.4% of its separate 1B RSR quorum. Milestone Plan: 14 wallets have cast 713.7M VOTE so far, reaching 71.4%. Neither has reached quorum.

It’s been a while since my last written update so here’s an overview of what we’re up to at ABC Labs.

What we've been heads down on

- Ran about 10 one-on-one user interviews with people in eligible countries to test demand for the AI DTF series. Signals are positive, and higher net worth users tend to grasp the product fastest and show good signs of demand.
- Those calls surfaced a long list of things the current UI and materials don't explain well, especially for people hearing about Reserve for the first time. Sitting down with our product designer to start fixing that.
- Huge amount of ops and engineering work on liquidity. Equity DTFs don't draw on onchain DEX liquidity like CMC20 does. They rely on Ondo's just-in-time minting and market makers repackaging that liquidity through RFQ systems (CoW Swap, 1inch, PancakeSwap X). We've been working out the kinks so users consistently get good pricing.
- Separate engineering effort to overhaul the trade router across all DTFs for better pricing and faster quotes.

My take on the recent launch

- The signals suggest this product line can work and could grow large. What we haven't proven yet is reaching the right audience at scale and explaining it well enough to convert.
- Next few weeks are about testing marketing channels.
- We launched into a market pullback, and thematic products are a hard sell when prices are down. Not surprising that capital didn't rush in immediately.

Why so much AI content

- The product thesis rests on a personal belief that transformative AI is nowhere near priced in, and that it will be over the next few years. Expect volatility and repeated pullbacks along the way. Not investment advice, just the reasoning behind why we're bullish on the line.
- "Buying into the Singularity" (@bits_pod ) is a deliberate bet that becoming a credible voice in AI investing brings long-term attention to Reserve products. Also a topic I care about personally, independent of Reserve.
- Rough analogy: this feels like 2017, maybe 2013 for crypto, not the year 2000 for tech. I expect booms and busts on a one to two year cadence rather than four, because it's driven by real capability releases, not pure speculation.
- Two things that could drive the next wave: visible recursive self-improvement, and continual learning (models actually updating weights from what they encounter instead of relying on context windows). Wouldn't be shocked to see a lab demo the latter within a year.

Also cooking

- A new crypto-oriented DTF line. The four-year cycle looks alive for Bitcoin at least, less clear for alts, so timing seems good. Close to ready, taking a bit more time.
- One further project involving agentic components. Code written, some already in audit, but final decisions pending. Possible we decide it's too innovative for now, so no details yet.
