There are moments that remind us why years of perseverance, sacrifice & unwavering commitment are always worthwhile. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's visit to the Main Control Room of HPCL Rajasthan Refinery (HRRL) on 4th July was one such unforgettable moment for the entire HRRL & HPCL family. It was a privilege for me, together with Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, to brief Hon'ble Prime Minister, on the refinery's integrated processes, product portfolio and the advanced digital systems that drive safe, efficient & reliable operations.
Yet, beyond the technology and infrastructure, two memorable moments stand out for me - Hon'ble Prime Minister’s interactions with a representative sample of workers and technicians who were involved in the construction phase, and his impromptu interaction with the representatives of Team HRRL. Those moments were precious and the interactions were simply inspiring.
In those few moments, countless years of hard work, determination & resilience found their true meaning. Every challenge overcome, every milestone achieved & every hour devoted to building this world-class refinery seemed to culminate in a shared sense of pride and purpose. For every engineer, operator, technician, contractor & employee who believed in this dream and worked tirelessly to make it a reality, this was not merely an inauguration—it was an affirmation of what collective resolve can achieve.
As we look ahead, Team HPCL & HRRL carries this inspiration with renewed determination to raise the bar even higher, set new benchmarks in operational excellence, and contribute with pride to India's energy security and the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Some milestones mark the completion of a project. Others ignite the beginning of an even greater journey. For Team HPCL & HRRL, this was one such moment.

In light of increased customer footfall and reports regarding fuel availability in Gorakhpur, HPCL would like to clarify that fuel supplies continue to remain stable with uninterrupted operations and regular replenishment support across the district.
As of May 22, 2026, HPCL has 58 operational retail outlets in Gorakhpur with available stocks of 359 KL of Petrol (MS) and 222 KL of Diesel (HSD), against average sales of 102 KL MS and 200 KL HSD.
Yesterday’s sales stood at 228 KL MS and 217 KL HSD, reflecting significantly higher customer demand. During the third week of May 2026, Petrol (MS) growth was recorded at 11%.
The increased customer footfall is primarily attributable to seasonal demand, higher agricultural Diesel consumption, and the shift of customers from certain private retail outlets and institutional consumers towards retail outlets.
Today, indents of 202 KL MS and 171 KL HSD are under execution, and supplies continue normally across the network.
While panic buying and heavy rush are being witnessed at certain outlets, all efforts are being undertaken in coordination with local authorities to maintain orderly operations and ensure uninterrupted fuel availability.
Genuine farmers are requested to cooperate at retail outlets and carry their Kisan Cards or Aadhaar Cards for verification purposes. Vehicle owners are also requested to carry and show valid vehicle registration documents. This will help ensure smooth servicing for genuine customers and maintain orderly operations at outlets.
Customers are requested not to indulge in panic buying or rely on rumours and unverified social media reports.
HPCL remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted fuel availability and seamless customer service across the region.

An ocean of energy opportunities opens up in the Andaman Sea!
Very happy to report the occurrence of natural gas in Sri Vijayapuram 2 well at a distance of 9.20 NM (17 km) from the shoreline on the east coast of the Andaman Islands at a water depth of 295 meters and target depth of 2650 meters.
Initial production testing of the well in the range of 2212 – 2250 meters has established the presence of natural gas with intermittent flaring. The gas samples were brought by ship to Kakinada, were tested and found to be 87% methane.
The size of the gas pool and commercial viability of the discovery will get verified in the coming months but establishing the presence of hydrocarbons in the Andaman basin is a major step in confirming our long held belief that Andaman basin is rich in natural gas, in line with discoveries in the entire area from Myanmar in North to Indonesia in the south in this belt.
Under the deepwater mission announced by Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji on Independence Day, large number of deepwater exploration wells are planned in our offshore basins in order to find new discoveries and fully exploit our hydrocarbon reserves.
This occurrence of natural gas will help us in taking forward our exploration ambitions in coordination with global deepwater exploration experts like @petrobras @bp_india@Shell@exxonmobil and will be a significant milestone in our journey through Amrit Kaal!
