Yesterday, The MINICT and @Rwanda_Edu visited the Rwanda Institute of Computing (RIC) to assess its infrastructure and readiness ahead of operationalization, and to align on the next steps towards developing Rwanda’s next generation of talent in AI and cybersecurity.
The Ministry of ICT & Innovation hosted a two-day working session with to explore a strategic AI partnership and identify practical opportunities to advance Rwanda’s digital transformation.
The session brought together key stakeholders to align on priorities and define a structured partnership to strengthen Rwanda’s AI ecosystem and create impactful solutions.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of ICT and Innovation held a courtesy meeting with Mr. Evgeny Kalashnikov, Counsellor at the @RusEmb_Rwanda . Discussions focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in ICT and innovation, while further strengthening the longstanding relations and cooperation between Rwanda and the Russian Federation.
Yesterday, the Minister of State joined the Chief Executives Organization Rwanda program 2026, where he had an engaging dialogue with global business leaders on Rwanda’s journey of transformation, the opportunities ahead, and the role of strong public-private partnerships in shaping a knowledge based, technology enabled and private sector led future.
The Ministry of ICT and Innovation received a courtesy visit from representatives of the e-Crime Bureau to discuss plans to establish its presence in Rwanda.
The meeting explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration on cybersecurity through capacity building, and reinforcing Rwanda's efforts to build a safe and resilient digital ecosystem.
Today, the Ministry of ICT and Innovation hosted a meeting with representatives from an Israeli satellite launching company, to discuss Rwanda's growing space ambitions and opportunities for future collaboration.
The discussions focused on Rwanda's evolving space ecosystem, exploring opportunities for capacity building, knowledge transfer, and the development of sovereign space capabilities.
These efforts have the potential to accelerate innovation, strengthen industrial development, and contribute to the implementation of Rwanda's NST2.
The Pan-African Informatics Olympiad (PAIO) 2026 successfully concluded in Kigali, Rwanda. Over 113 contestants demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills while being supported by dedicated team leaders. Beyond the medals PAIO 2026 was about strengthening computer science education across Africa. We look forward to next year's #PAIO in Kenya.
Minister @MusoniPaula bid farewell to EU Ambassador @BelenCalvoEU as she concluded her diplomatic mission in Rwanda, expressing appreciation for her partnership and support in advancing Rwanda's digital transformation, innovation agenda, and Rwanda EU cooperation. @RwandaICT wishes Ambassador Calvo every success in her next assignment.
Today, the Ministry of ICT & Innovation and @BKFoundation_ signed an MoU to expand digital skills, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and create more pathways to employment in Rwanda's digital economy.
Through initiatives including Innovation Hubs, technical fellowships, freelancing programs, and Smart Ibiruhuko, the partnership will equip more Rwandans with the skills and opportunities to thrive in the digital age.
