Republicans have a hard time understanding why I despise them with every fiber of my being.

Saying “It’s only politics, get over it”

They couldn’t be more wrong.

It’s personal.

When your wife almost loses a child, and her own life due to complications during pregnancy….

When she hemorrhages so bad during child birth…
She has blood clots traveling through her body,
Clots that could have gone to her heart causing a heart attack,
Or that could have gone to her brain causing a stroke,
Either one could have killed her.

She was treated for moths after her pregnancy.

Our daughters are susceptible to the very same life threatening issues if they ever become pregnant.

But Republicans are willing to risk their lives,

By taking away their right to choose.

When your teen son is bullied to the point he’s told to k*ll himself because of his sexual orientation.

When the school does little to nothing to protect him….

The kids who bullied my son learned that behavior and hate from their Parents.

That very same behavior and hate is deeply rooted in Republican ideology and their so called “Christian” beliefs.

I live in a Blue state.
But I live in a rural part of the state where my county voted overwhelmingly for Trump.

So when I say it’s not about politics.

That’s exactly what I mean.

It’s about protecting my children.

Every Republican has told me,

My children don’t matter….

So no -
It’s not about politics,
It’s Personal.

President-elect Trump continues to make real threats about imposing sweeping tariffs that would devastate Canada’s economy. In two weeks, the president-elect will be sworn in as America’s next president and will have every opportunity to make his threats real. Between now and then, the federal government needs to do everything humanly possible to avoid these tariffs, including by doing more to secure our border and offering a credible plan to invest more in Canada’s military to meet and exceed our NATO spending commitments.

As every premier agreed at our recent Council of the Federation meeting, the imposition of tariffs by the U.S. would be a significant failure on the part of the federal government. Now more than ever, the interests of Canadian workers and families need to come before political or party ambitions. Canada needs to demonstrate stability and strength at this critical moment, and the federal government must urgently explain to Canadians how they will avoid tariffs that could have devastating effects on our economy.
