I'm going to cancel Claude. It's just so bad, I can't believe it.

It's just lazy. The most recent example: I have Claude check my inbox for important emails, summarize them, work with them, and send out replies if necessary. I caught Claude again simply not reading the email thread to the end and just ignoring the latest emails.

When I asked him about it, Opus 5 just said: "Valid point. I didn't read it."

I mean, seriously. What the heck? You have to babysit it every time.

To be honest, if standups were always at the end of the day, it would work a lot better.

When I was working in US hours, the calls were always at the eod for me, which was perfect. I'd take the whole day to work on my stuff uninterrupted and report before I log-off

I hate being opinionated. I also can't stand people who make "harsh takes" their personality.

Things have a purpose and they solve specific problems. Limiting yourself because of some hype-driven opinion or a "principled" stance against a tool is just stupid.

Use the wheel.

I challenge anyone to run a small kafka cluster, two instances so definitely not a faang scale, on bare metal and compare the experience of its operations/maintenance to the same size strimzi deployment on kubernetes.

People telling me Kubernetes is “overengineered” and “you don’t need it unless you’re a FAANG” are telling me they don’t have basic understanding of ops challenges. And if they say “just use Docker Compose in production,” well, that’s a fire-or-don’t-hire offense.

And it's not even an "it depends" situation anymore.

This whole industry is built on the principle of "don't reinvent the wheel", yet we have a vocal group constantly insisting we shouldn't use the wheel because "the wheel belongs to big cars".
