Imagine you’re on a professional expedition. If we removed titles and stowed equipment for the day - how would we know who the medic was? Join me at #WEM25 in two-weeks to find out… https://t.co/LficYWx6VG
@TheRealRead@Jam_Bulance We also have huge resource density in London with an awful lot of satellite stations, crews, and resources over a very small geographic area. It’s different on the fringes but where I work in zone 1 you normally have 3+ resources on scene within 10 mins.
@ParaAndy90 No? Check it out. Clinical Knowledge Summaries. Provides centralised and evidenced summaries of assessment, diagnosis, and management of a huge amount of illnesses and injuries. At least guides me towards knowing the investigations and management a hospital is likely to undertake
I saw this on an OS map and couldn't not investigate. A place of worship symbol in the middle of bloody nowhere on the edge of a wood. It was a foggy, atmospheric day up on the North Downs, so I decided to walk three sides of a square through the wood to reach it.
I’ll be speaking tomorrow at the @WorldExtremeMed conference. It involves, in no particular order; lava, purpose, prince William swearing, and gas hobs. Somewhat of an outlier in your normal medical conference programming. If you’re around, please come heckle me.
@DrRJWebb@ZeeshParamedic Very kind of you to say about ambulance crews, Richard. We always say that 90% of our job is just talking to people, and there’s a reason we spend so much of our training on human factors and communication.
I’m honoured and privileged to be joining @WorldExtremeMed next weekend to present at the WEM24 conference on crashing, burning and finding your purpose within the expedition space. Come say hi if you’re there!
@J_L_T_M @HEMS_Driver@DevonAirAmb I have a cigarette lighter powered espresso machine that I rewired to run off the electrics from a jetranger I used to work on. Highly recommended for just these kind of critical emergencies.
@alec_aspden Hi Alec. Is there a minimum para experience required? I’m due to qualify as a para early 2024 but have 4 years front line EMT experience and 8 years UK Mountain Rescue.
