@CLEsportsTalk 1992 or 1993 can't remember. Old Stadium hanging out at the Indians dugout after a loss trying to get the players to give autographs and Bud Black tossed me a ball as he was walking back from the bullpen
@andy_buksterlin The only things I have against the photo on the left are he is flagging the others leg, an object hanging from trigger guard and it looks like finger may be on the trigger. Those are violations of gun safety not the right to bare arms
There are bobbleheads — and then there’s this. The first 18,000 fans at the New York Yankees August 21 game against the Boston Red Sox will receive a special George Costanza bobblehead as part of “Seinfeld Night.” The collectible features Costanza—portrayed by Jason Alexander—caught sleeping under his desk at Yankee Stadium, a nod to the iconic Season 8 episode of Seinfeld titled The Nap.
In that episode, Costanza, the Yankees’ fictional assistant to the traveling secretary, enlists a handyman to convert the space beneath his desk into a hidden napping nook, complete with an alarm clock, blanket, and cup holder.
“This is better than my bed at home,” Costanza declares after testing out the setup. But the nap doesn’t last long—Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, famously voiced by Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, shows up looking for him, prompting a frantic phone call to Jerry for help.
The special giveaway adds another quirky chapter to the Yankees’ tradition of celebrating the classic New York-based sitcom.
