‘WALANG HONOR, WALANG BAYAN, WALANG HIYA’
Chef Waya Araos-Wijangco took to Facebook on Tuesday, May 12, to express frustration after a Senate Committee on Agriculture hearing, where farmers were set to air their concerns, was canceled following a leadership shakeup triggered by a Duterte-aligned senators’ move that ousted Senate President Tito Sotto and installed Alan Peter Cayetano.
She said partner farmers had prepared all week for the hearing, compiling accounts of rising fuel and fertilizer costs, poor infrastructure, climate impacts, transport expenses and unfair trading practices affecting their livelihoods.
According to her post, the farmers made significant sacrifices to attend the session, including rearranging farm work, arranging childcare and travelling long hours to Manila in the hope of being heard.
Instead, they received a cancellation notice on the day of the hearing, with no clear schedule for resumption.
Chef Waya described the situation as a “new low,” saying farmers came prepared with “lived experience, practical solutions, and dignity,” but were met with political disruption instead of dialogue.
Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan later apologized, saying the cancelation stemmed from the Senate’s leadership reorganization.
He said he is arranging to meet the farmers separately and assured that agricultural advocacy will continue despite what he called a “temporary setback.”
Alan Peter Cayetano is a graduate of De La Salle Zobel for grade school and high school, UP for college, Ateneo for law school. He has the distinction of being a disgrace to Ateneo, UP, and La Salle

“Please include us in your prayers,” Dela Rosa said in a Facebook video, along with other Senators Robin Padilla, Joel Villanueva, Bong Go and Imee Marcos. “Gusto nila akong pilit dadalhin sa The Hague. I am doing this not for myself, but for the sake of our country.”

🚨 Ang worry ni tweety bird na nasa loob ng Senado ngayon, baka bukas daw eh makalaya na si Curlee Discaya kung i-lift na contempt order sa kanya…
…at gawin syang star witness ni Rodente Marcoleta.
That is indeed troubling.
