@jhuskisson@mage_os Also, did not mean for that to be a slight to you or even MA whatsoever. Meet Magento, the events committee, and events in general are so critical to the ecosystem, and do great work.
@jhuskisson@mage_os If your agency business is supporting and fixing the Magento core, maybe. That's not usually a niche agencies fill, except by necessity.
@jhuskisson@mage_os (Did I say that? Oops)
Already differences in v1, and more will come in time. Already numerous projects underway by community devs with really exciting ideas. Some more details at https://t.co/FYIGchHdnp
@jhuskisson@mage_os TBD somewhat, but volunteer passion projects are great but not sufficient to totally drive a solution of this scale. We need to move faster, for the good of the ecosystem, and that requires time and focus. Those can be hard to come by in evenings and weekends.
@jhuskisson@mage_os Bottom line, we want to empower people to do more and do it better.
So much more to say, didn't have time. Check our faq, talk here, or find me at the booth tomorrow, happy to chat further.
@jhuskisson@mage_os Clarifying this point -- the services would be 'core' support only, like Commerce support (but better). Goal would be to support *the platform*, and supplement agencies with SLAs, bug fixes, etc. Not replace or cannibalize. Co would do zero private development services.
Surprise! It's the Mage-OS Distribution!
We're proud to announce version 1 of Mage-OS is published and available now! Read more at https://t.co/tu2vWPgtog
Huge thanks to the many people that helped make this happen.
Coming to #mm23nyc? Iβm going to quick fire a lot of questions to @MagentoAssoc and @mage_os - this is your chance to ask them anything. Survey closes tomorrow (Friday) 12pm CT so please add your voice https://t.co/hgmxhqVxt9
@DavidLambauer@thienlan Funny story, one of my coworkers is verrry into collecting these, so I have something of an inside scoop here.
I'm told it takes a pretty big minimum order to produce a new line, in the area of 1200 π. It's achievable but not cheap (and also requires distribution).
@DavidLambauer@thienlan Personally, I'm interested in custom lamps ... there are suppliers for those, the distribution is also problem there. Anything of the sort is made in lots rather than on-demand.
