Look at this #derecho, or long-lived thunderstorm windstorm, EXPLODE in size. That's how they work.
A small cluster of storms will tap into jet stream momentum, fan outward into a bow, and rush east to gobble up the extremely warm, humid air mass ahead of them. Textbook result:
