But since the system/the engine has many moving parts pressuring a gas (steam). The engine can go from tempermental to not working at all.
Awdry personified the "system" as the engine's choice.

Rather then if Thomas gains awareness that he lost his train and still left it behind cos he thinks its the “right thing” to do.

@JDogg073 Thomas had anticipated this moment all morning & the night before. (Maybe even since’s Gordon’s trick) he was “excited” and “ran” squarely focused on his imagination. “He nearly cried” hints at a tsunami of emotions, to a point he became senseless to touch anything.

I’ve forgotten how adorable Thomas was in his first book. This kid is so excited he runs, when he sees the world he’s happy to exist. When he realise he left his train, thoughts of passengers, engines, the fat director, his own fake image, proves too much for him. He’s so naive.

@reddestroyer05 “Sodor tramways” was built after the peel godred branch, it goes from arlesburgh harbour to callan castle. To compete with the mid sodor & roads (bad idea) and closed in 1951. When the little western was restored to mainline standards the tramway follow suit.

With Thomas & friends being this weird amalgamation of a version of everything. (Magazines, merch, other books, annuals, random awdry lore included)

It appalls me how there are bigots such as racists and homophobes within the TTTE fandom when the show and to the extent the books’ core fundamentals is about community and acceptance. The characters are basically unwanted folks abandoned by their owners and made Sodor their home

Visual fidelity, music, acting, expressions - banger.
story is simple if generic following “and then and then” structure.
Terminology and geography are incorrect for “authentic train culture”
I also hate how Thomas can’t pull 3 trucks, waits on crossings & bad signalling.
