@WolvesAyWeFC@AdamTheGaffa@MrDtAFC But it does end in a goal, if we move the goalposts you’re correct they don’t check.
And it was a clear and obvious error from the ref. There’s been numerous cases of ‘was that clear and obvious’ but that one was very clear the player stands on his foot
@WolvesAyWeFC@AdamTheGaffa@MrDtAFC It’s the same attacking phase, the ball hasn’t been recycled. It’s a counter attack from winning the ball illegally. Hope this helps. Egypt were unlucky they played a really good game but that was the correct call. Sadly the setup didn’t adjust to Romero going striker
@arpit68234@Livin_Liverpool He’s played 63 times and got 4 intl caps, he’s not exactly suddenly showed up yesterday. He has a high ceiling and the floor is already raised. Plus with his age he will retain the 60m valuation so can always recoup the funds if he turns out disastrous. Seems good business
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 Yeah you just don’t know the rules. ‘Use contact to gain an advantage’ followed by ‘no way impedes salah’ contradictory. And double jeopardy rule how is Salah trying to get him a red card 🤣
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 So he’s done it for no gain 🤣 a player of Bernardo silvas ability and experience has done something for no gain that asks questions of the referee. I think if silva feels he has to put his hand there he knows it’s going to impact his ability to get the ball
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 Ok so if silva has gained no advantage, why’s he done it? Hes just put himself in a position to possibly give away a penalty with no gain?
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 You have to be theatrical to get anything. You could get two footed in the shin and the ref would wave play on if you stayed on your feet. It’s definitely a foul. Silva wouldn’t do it if he didn’t gain anything from doing so. It would be a very soft penalty to give however
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 The silva one isn’t a dive because as you said there is contact. Sure it’s theatrical like every other player in the league, referees only give it if you make it theatrical. Silva only has one intention of pulling his arm, unbalance him to prevent him scoring. I’m 50/50 it’s soft
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 Salah staying on his feet after being pulled is not the same scenario as Salah not being pulled by Guehi, this is the differential
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 He goes down because he’s been fouled and we have seen on many occasions this season if you stay on your feet after getting fouled, the refs do not give the foul
@WhitlamJosef@ABC12332421507@TimD2704 The shirt pull slows Salah down and is what allows Dias to get closer to the ball to prevent the goal. Not that hard to work out. It’s the same reason Szoboszlai pulled haaland shirt to get past him at the end and then haaland pulled back to go past him again
