You served this weekend.
Maybe nobody said thank you. Maybe the set didn't flow the way you planned. Maybe you wonder if any of it matters.
But you showed up. You led. You gave people a place to encounter God.
Most people who started where you started aren't still doing this.
Most of us treat creativity like a faucet.
Turn it on when you need it.
Turn it off when you are done.
Repeat next week.
But the truth is, creativity is more like a well.
If you keep drawing without replenishing, eventually you hit dirt.
Romans 12:1 includes logikos, often translated “reasonable” or “true.” Worship is not anti-mind. It is formed worship, thoughtful worship, whole-person worship that includes how you think and discern. You’re not asked to check out when you worship.
Most worship leaders aren’t tired because they lack passion.
They’re tired because they’ve learned how to be needed, but not how to rest.
Jesus invites us to a different kind of faithfulness.
Hey, worship leader, the time you spend praying and planning over the worship set for this weekend will pay dividends in the lives of those you lead. Don't neglect the power of preparing to lead God's people in worship.
