@drjasonbendall Getting the names for things right is super important, and this debate has gone backwards and forwards around the country/world. My concern is that any association with paramedics/ambulances suggests this is an paramedic/ambulance problem, or caused by us, which is just not true.
As we wind up #ACPIC22 I’ve never been more humbled and proud to have an association with @ACParamedicine and to recognise the incredible work by all of the staff and volunteers working to advance the profession every single day. 🙏🏻
With more reading, this idea was potential both by Leon Battista Alberti, an Italian renaissance polymath, in the 1400s saying "a man can do all things if he will". 🙏🏻
I’ve always dreaded the “what do you do for a living” question as I technically have three jobs, plus my dad role, and people seemed a bit judgey about that. But today I learnt that “plural” careers are a thing. And I’m 300% in! Thanks Monocle! https://t.co/ysUtFBlosl
@expensivecare@AaronTuNZ@AmbulanceVic@StJohnNZ Imagine if we we had regionally harmonised guidelines, developed by and for the profession, then all of our clinicians, irrespective of domain of practice, could provide the very best evidence based care to all patients, everywhere… borders should not define care.
I am humbled by the significant calibre of our editorial team for ‘Paramedicine’. From Ireland, Canada, the UK and Australia, we have the right team and the right posture to make a truely international impact.
Assoc Prof @PaulMSimpson1, Editor-in-Chief, has revealed the new name of our new journal:
‘Paramedicine’.
👏 The journal will officially launch at #ACPIC2022 and will be open for manuscript submissions in late 2022.

A great presentation by Matt Wilkinson-Stokes this morning challenging nitrate contraindications in AMI. This is exactly the type of thinking that drives me every day to work towards @ACParamedicine developing harmonised clinical guidelines informed by paramedic expertise.
Woohoo! It might not be Olympics but is for us. St John's https://t.co/Hoa0gJwZAp CAD project into Finals for the @TheCouncilofAm1 Excellence in Technology Award. In an emergency, lives depend on St John getting there rapidly. https://t.co/Hoa0gJwZAp helps us do that. #Skerric
We would like to recognise the commitment & contribution to the paramedic profession & our College by Susan Webster ASM who sadly lost her battle with cancer recently. We send our condolences to her husband, extended family & those who worked alongside her https://t.co/6NLrAX4lTo
@drjasonbendall I acutely remember a vigorous discussion with an educator years ago during a BLS currency day when I suggested naloxone had a place in response to OHCA secondary to opioid OD. I note that others have also commented that they were told no too. How did we get to that place?
The @ACParamedicine AGM is this Friday, for all voting members, in the interests of representative democracy, check your email and take an active role in determining the future of your College. Vote!
