@TanyaEverywhere I was theorize it has more to do with people being energetically conservative and only want to go to the best most popular events, else they rather stay home or go do something less intense. Even when my events are free/cheap these days getting attendance is difficuly
We have to want the distribution of power and it’s uses for justice more than we want the protection power provides. We are watching the end result of what happens when oppressed people seek to use their power, just to never be oppressed again.
2 reminders:
1) Many Jews are not zionists. Stop conflating the two. (Join us!)
2) Many zionists are not Jews. In fact, Christian Zionists have a huge and growing amount of power in America. (Christians, get your people)
@TanyaEverywhere This is the feeling I get from every party scene that isn’t financially inclusive. Just another way for capitalism to continue to abuse people.
@karlitaliliana You would enjoy “Ishmael” by Daniel Quinn
Talks about this story in historical depth, which should be taken with a large grain of salt. Still a worthwhile read
@engineering_bae See, but imagine doing that with co-workers you like. That I miss, I always built teams that could be silly and playful and authentic. We would figure out ways to listen to music together while we paired, or would do a group listening session on turntable
Every week, @HellGateNY, @nysfocus, and @THECITYNY publish reporting that runs laps around all the legacy media in New York.
Independent, nonprofit or worker-owned media is the future of high-quality journalism, at least here in NY. Please support these outlets (links below).
@steveklabnik @nick_r_cameron@withoutboats I wish I could know how the rust org was formed considering how many foundational contributors appear to be in constant conflict with the org. Was it disenfranchisement? Was it just not interested in the politics?
@AndyEyeballs Ah the age old game of… is it me? Is it my identity? Or are you just this way to everyone?
The amount of time I have spent in my life trying to figure this out is tiresome.
NEWS: My god. $820 million. NYC taxpayers will pay *$820 million* in just overtime for NYPD this year. Could instead house all 14,000 homeless families in NYC. Then years of rent for 7,000 families out of work & at risk of eviction. With millions left over.https://t.co/gTxt1GlHz8
@polotek I actually enjoy vue + react + apollo graphql + css modules. The thing I dislike about it though is specifically a JSX problem. using JSX as an API layer for other features such as react-router make it impossible migrate to other tooling or new API versions
