During the local elections in Cobh, James O'Connor TD stood at my hall door.
He spoke directly to Katie.
He heard her story.
He looked her in the eye.
And he promised to help.
Fast-forward to us standing outside Dáil Éireann, protesting because we’ve been ignored for years — and he walked past without a word.
No follow-up.
No response.
No action.
Another promise made when votes were needed.
Another silence when help was actually required.
Katie didn’t imagine that conversation.
I didn’t misunderstand it.
