I launched Site Scarf 2 months ago

it was my 2nd attempt at a SaaS product

here’s what I learnt

1. building something is the best way to learn

2. launching on Product Hunt is a great way to work towards a forced deadline but doesn’t always = traffic and sales

3. focus on one feature and get it out there. (wasted too much time before building features for 0 users)

4. too easy to classify something as a failure if you make 0 sales. take all the learnings into the next project

5. in the beginning community around a project is more important than the project…

I built site scarf purely to have something to tweet about and get my foot in the door of the indie hacking community.

I was a long time lurker, if you’re reading this and don’t know how to start, just make something and tweet about it.
