@megbasham@JoelWBerry That’s a horrible way of putting it. Keller was a proud Christian. He was averse to Christianity being hijacked by politics. I would even argue most of the people he appealed to were not embarrassed to be Christians.
With many others, I'm praying for Sam Allberry--for ongoing repentance, for the overthrow of sin, for healing in the chaos and pain of the present moment.
Every one of us is a sinner; every one of us knows what it is to drink in the bitterness of our actions.
God be merciful.
@RepShriThanedar Here is what you describe as your favorite kind.
1. safe = infanticide is only harmful to the worthless life
2. legal = there should be no consequence for the murder of lesser human beings
3. accessible = all people everywhere should not be limited to this type of murder
This is the most detailed MRI scan of an unborn baby.
At just 20 weeks, she is moving, turning her head, kicking—even standing. Her beating heart is also visible.
Human life is a miracle.
@stoolpresidente I hope that behind closed doors he’s doing the hard work that he needs to do. You’re right to say that none of us can stand in light of our sin, however, we all are called to repent at the foot of the cross.
Today, my friend, colleague, and boss, Dr. Hershael York, preached his final sermon as Dean of the School of Theology at @SBTS. He's not retiring — he'll remain the storied preaching professor that he is. This man means so much to me. Scripture calls us to give "honor to whom honor is owed" (Rom. 13: 7). No man is more fitting of honor and appreciation than Dr. York.
@EmmanuelAcho Acho, your interpretation of Paul’s letters and Jesus’ interactions with the woman caught in the adultery is perversion of Scripture.
May the Lord convict you for misrepresenting his word and maligning others with it. 🙏
@EmmanuelAcho shares with us his fundamental understanding of the Bible.
1. You do you
2. The power of the state
3. Biblical conviction as long as it serves 1&2.
All the while he says the man he is criticizing needs mental health help while putting him down. Self-Serving
Jaden Ivey has to understand freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequence.
Also, you serve God. You’re not God.
As the son of a pastor this topic means a lot to me and I’m praying for Jaden Ivey’s mental health.
My full thoughts:
@EmmanuelAcho He would be better off just keeping the main thing the main thing. He is right to call out the NBA on its mandatory celebration of pride month, and he would be better off just making that the issue. However, Acho your understanding of the Jesus needs to be Biblical.
@EmmanuelAcho You had me until you started applying the Bible wrongly and called what is biblical unbiblical. Your idea is that the Bible gives authority to the state over and above the Word of God.
