3/ More importantly the chart we've been waiting YEARS for: how much do banks actually lend to private credit funds, globally? Answer: <0.3% of bank assets even in the UK (the "leader"). Every shadow-banking-contagion thinkpiece should reflect on this.
Without factoring in cost or schools, the definitive list of best neighborhoods to live in DC are:
(1) Georgetown
(2) Woodland Normanstone
(2) Kalorama
(3) DuPont Circle
(4) Woodley Park
You can swap (1) and (2) depending how you prioritize walking to shops.
My early DC neighborhood rankings (based on where I’ve been so far):
1. Adams Morgan
2. Columbia Heights
3. Georgetown
4. Dupont Circle
5. Navy Yard
6. Capitol Hill
@SkellyFreaks Georgetown is ringed by Montrose Park, and Dumbarton Oaks trails on the North, Rock Creek on the east, Glover Archibald on the West, and the Waterfront/C&O canal trail to the south/SE. there’s some smaller but still decent parks like Volta around as well. It’s great!
@acad3m1a This is true, but it has great bus routes to get you downtown, easy biking or walking to Rosslyn, and pretty convenient driving connections to get you into NOVA.
Doesn’t work for all areas.

@TheStalwart Pretty easy to ignore the substantial research on market failures in food provision, and the corresponding negative costs to public health and education, and just assume that there’s no government role here.
“America would be better off if more people worked in manufacturing.”

• 20% disagree

A change in trade policy will not fix the European Union’s longer-term structural problems, write @m2matthijs and @Ej_Europe. How can European leaders rebalance the continent’s economy and address Europe’s security vulnerabilities? https://t.co/BMnBSUCFeP
@TheStalwart Mainly, because Mervyn King thought consensus approaches led to worse outcomes over time. See the second section of this speech.
It helped that due to how BoE appointments to the MPC are made, King could all but select over the half the members himself
