This drill creates an environment that stops hitters from spinning. The upper has to get past the lower and the barrel has to win the race. Long swings get exposed because you have to stay short to the ball in order to return it back and fire again.

One of my favorite ways to teach bat path is hard sliders coming into the hitter. We still must hold direction, as it's coming hard into us. Also, add in a skinny bat to test barrel accuracy.

One of my favorite ways to train bat path is hard sliders running into the hitter. Can you take a pitch that's running hard inside and still stay through it? It is a key indicator of a clean bat path if you can stay through a pitch running hard inside.
