@foxorian Reminds me of when I watched a vfx reaction vid to Snyder's JL cut. They joked about why it's important to label your render files well because the effects ppl that worked on that had to re-render effects from 4 years ago I believe because the aspect ratio was changed in that cut

@grapefruitzzz I know parts of film have been destroyed by accident. Either the film strip or the audio material. That's why there are sometimes old movies you'll see that have missing reels and I've seen deleted scenes at least once that have had no audio because they only have the footage.

@RichFerrando Is Barbie only on a hard drive now for WB or do they have a film print or some other master copy in some other format to preserve it for 100 years? Maybe that is a dumb question. I am in no way an expert on how they preserve films though I know Warner Archive is pretty good at it

The same could be said about Netflix, which has maintained the same people over the years. Perhaps I am just irritated by the narrative behind Netflix (allegedly making films studios weren't making anymore) over the years & what they have done to the business since at least 2015.

But my guess is the revenue for WB-D will dip a shit ton in 2024 from this relative high they had last year. It's been hard to love WB the last decade tbh with some of their decisions over multiple regimes.
