@dschamis@TheLIRRToday@LIRR@LIRR we know and you know that this revised schedule does not make sense. Please adjust the port Washington schedule returning east side access. This is creating a significant inconvenience to riders on this line.
@LIRR Terrible day to have “switch issues” after gutting direct PW to GCM trains during peak rush hours through poorly thought out schedule changes. Just added to confusion and growing frustration among PW commuters. Higher commuting costs and worsening service. Good combo.
@LIRR@jagerst83@lirr I think you misunderstood community feedback. We wanted more express trains to penn but not at the expense of east side access. More rush hour trains to Penn and GC. That’s what we want. The schedule now makes no sense. We have been saying this for three weeks.
@LIRR we told you for three weeks that nobody wanted the 719 from port Washington to go to penn. We said restore east side access to grand central during 6-8am rush. You said we are following ridership data. day 1 looks like the riders were correct. Empty 719 to Penn. FIX THIS!
@LIRR@DianeCalderone@LIRR here is the community feedback on the 719 train. You have almost 900 signatures that want this specific train to go to GC not penn. You won’t see any change in ridership bc you are now forcing all riders to penn we don’t have an option. https://t.co/Lsb5ZKYFTA
@LIRR@DianeCalderone@LIRR I agree we need more am rush hour trains but not at the expense of east side access. This change eliminates direct trains to GC during 6-8am rush hour. Making the 719 express to penn makes no sense when there is already a 714 express to penn.
@LIRR the petition for direct morning rush hour trains from port Washington to grand central is over 700 signatures. How much more do you need to see before adjusting this absurd schedule. Provide direct east side access for the port Washington branch. https://t.co/dfC33FAofI
@JohnBDias@JackieDowling8@CBSNewYork@JohnBDias this is interesting that more people are going to grand central but they are removing all 6-8am direct rush hour trains from port Washington. Now there are two express trains to penn 714 & 719. Makes no sense. Revised schedule below and 719 which currently goes to GC.
@ginasillitti@SenatorMartins have you heard back from @lirr about the 719 from port Washington. Based on this tweet it seems like they plan to move forward with this crazy schedule change. There are over 500 signatures on this petition and over 1000 people that take this train.
@ryguy410 Hi Ryan, our schedules team is reviewing the feedback but at this time, we are planning to run the schedule as it is written. We will keep you updated if there are any changes. ^AC
@LIRR this is your daily reminder that this packed 10 car train to grand central is what you are getting rid of. All these people want to go direct to GC. Your revised schedule will force all these people to penn or transfer at great neck with a 53 minute commute #portwashington
@dschamis@LIRR@PleaseFixLIRR Agree with @dschamis. @LIRR it would helpful to get an explanation on why 2 express trains 5 minutes apart to penn makes sense with none to grand central. None of your customers think this makes sense and it’s incredibly inconvenient for riders of the 719.
@LIRR Thanks for the response. Here is petition with almost 500 signatures regarding keeping the 719 to grand central https://t.co/dfC33FAofI. Please listen to your customers. Nobody wants the 719 to go to penn. Seems like a slam dunk to make this adjustment to your revised schedule.
@LIRR we are two weeks away from you senselessly ruining people’s commutes from port Washington. When are you going to review your proposed change to the 719 train (formerly to gc)? $12 billion was spent on east side access and now no direct train from port to gc during 6-8am.
