People that say things like “oh I can’t eat that I had it yesterday” annoy the hell out of me. Who cares if you ate it yesterday? If you want it then eat it again - it’s what you want right now, so what does it matter if you had it yesterday? Get your head out of the sand
OJ without pulp should always be the case. OJ ever having pulp should be considered an error. Do not ever give me or try to sell OJ with pulp in it. The shit sucks. Who the fuck in their right mind wants a bunch of fucking hairs in their OJ? Do you want chunks in your milk too?
“When we were first invited to Milan for the Olympics, we said no. It felt like more than we could handle. But we kept thinking about what John and Matty would say if they knew we turned it down. We knew the answer. John loved representing his country. From the time he was little, he dreamed of competing at the Olympics. In that final summer, he was working harder than ever, pushing himself with everything he had to earn a spot on that roster. He was going to be there. Sitting with that knowledge while watching these Games was not easy — but being present for them, surrounded by people who truly cared about John and Matty, made it something we will always treasure. Every person we encountered took the time to ask about the boys — who they were, what they meant to us, the kind of people they were away from the ice. What struck us most was realizing that John and Matty's impact reaches so much further than we sometimes see in our own grief. They are carried by so many people — in locker rooms, in conversations, in quiet moments we will never even know about. That means everything to us. And then Team USA won gold. When Zach, Auston, and Matthew carried John's jersey around that ice, we were overwhelmed — they made sure he was there. And then to see Noa and Johnny — on Johnny's second birthday — carried out onto the ice to be part of that gold medal photo — there are no words for what that felt like. John and Matty should have been there, and in that moment, they were. Thank you to every member of that team for loving John & Matty - and for making sure they were part of something historic. And thank you to everyone at @NBCOlympics and @usahockey for your kindness, your generosity, and for bringing our family to Milan to witness it. You gave us a gift we didn't know we needed.
With love and gratitude,
The Gaudreau Family"
The worst part of this drama was everybody on all sides of the argument trying to tell the women’s team how they should feel before letting them speak for themselves.
Great interview, @spittinchiclets.
This morning, the Hughes brothers told the @TODAYshow that when Jack got his teeth knocked out vs Canada, Quinn lied to him over its severity in the moment -- "It's all good man, it's only chipped. You're gonna be ok..."
Jack: "The first guy closest to me when I'm laying on the ice is obviously my older brother and he has the puck and you can see he's looking at me to see what's going on with my teeth and I remember him coming up to me and going, 'It's all good man, it's only chipped. You're gonna be ok...'"
Quinn: "I could see him right there and I saw his smile and I thought 'uh-oh, that doesn't look good...'"
On camera, Jack Hughes shouted out Megan Keller's golden goal in the women's game as literally his inspiration to do the same in his game. If that's not respecting female peers as equals in the sport, I don't know what is.
I see we are now smearing the hockey team bc Trump said something we didn't like. Journalism. The FIRST word out of a player's mouth after Trump's sentence is "ABSOLUTELY," followed by some cheering and laughing and then a chant of "TWO-FOR-TWO" in the background. Jack Hughes is literally on video saying the first person he thought of after his golden goal was Megan Keller, whom he'd congratulated on her OT goal the day before in the cafeteria. The entire team honored a fallen teammate by caring for his widow, parents and children on the ice in the moments after the Gold (and throughout the last 18 mos). But sure, because 100% of team members don't either a) reject a phone call from a president you don't like, which is probably Sally's actual wish or b) react like cable pundits by fact-checking him on said phone call, we're gonna milkshake duck a group of American heroes. It's so very missing the point.
Dylan Larkin: "Johnny and Matty should be here.... Somehow they put a spell around our net where that puck didn't go in. Ironic, because it's on the defensive side. He would never have been back there. We miss him, and we love him, and we love his family."
One of my fav side stories was during the Women’s gold medal match Tom Brady asked the Hughes brothers to come up to his suite to meet him, and they kept saying “not now we want to watch the game” and waited until the end of the period to begrudgingly leave their seats
