@RCMB323 Could be an elite eight team, could be bounced in the first round. And I’m not sure either one of those results would be significantly more surprising than the other.
@gerrylynch The best response to the inevitable retorts to this is from Basil: “The Word was God. Do not quibble with me about the verbal distinctions. Do not attribute a blasphemy to the teaching of the Spirit by appeal to your evil arts. You have the verdict; submit yourself to the Lord."
@ckleene@geoffschwartz But I think the current setup makes it possible for schools who have been traditionally on the outside looking in to climb up into that top 20. Texas Tech, e.g., Indiana too. Maybe a new norm with new “blue bloods” will set in, or maybe the pool of true competitors will expand.
@ckleene@geoffschwartz It didn’t level the playing field? Indiana is the favorite to win the national championship! And whoever wins, it will be their first title in 24 years, 60+ years, or *ever*. Seems to me the field has never been more level.
Old school college football fans have been whining about NIL and the transfer portal ruining the sport when in reality it's brought the sport the parity it desperately needed.
@FiredUpCoug If you had asked me yesterday to script the most brutal way Tech could lose today, I’m not sure I could have come up with a game that felt anywhere near as bad as this one did…
