Sometimes I miss having the possibility of my tweets to be seen by more than 100 people. But I'm not gonna pay for Twitter. So I guess I'll just continue to shout into the void.
This was done to me. Told at 15 (after my stepdad died in a tragic accident at work) that I had major clinical depression, there was a "chemical imbalance" in my brain and that an SSRI was going to help fix me.
Hugely damaging.
It took 12 years for me to unlearn.
"You hand a diagnosis to a child...and you forever change that child's view of himself or herself.
That's what we were seeing. We were seeing kids handed a limitation and told: 'There's something wrong with you, and only science can fix you. It's out of your control.'...
That's a devastating thing to tell a child."
@AbigailShrier with @Rafa_Mangual on the @CityJournal podcast last week:
@TheReal307@ItsGoneAwry@micheal_ws18 Also supplement with 10,00 iu vit D in the morning plus some sun exposure to the eyes helps set your circadian rhythm and helps with natural melatonin production at night.
Also dimmed incandescent bulbs only after sun down. No LED.
@ItsGoneAwry@CoachDanGo I recently switched out the majority of the LED light bulbs in my house to vintage incandescent bulbs.
Incandescent bulbs give off a good amount of red and IR light especially if you dim them.
Why isn't this more widely known?!
Practically all newborns (especially those born by C-section or who's mother had been on antibiotics recently) should be getting it introduced through a probiotic.
Been learning about bifidobacterium infantis, a vital gut bacteria that is almost completely absent from western societies (it's found in Mennonite communities). It eats the HMOs in breast milk that babies can't digest themselves.
Wow.
Hypothesis is that antibiotic use is the main culprit for this microbe disappearing over the last 100 years.
It protects the babies gut lining, turns their poop more acidic to protect against bad bacteria and helps mediate immune function in a host of ways.
@AlobhaPatrick My dad did PCP for the first time when he was 13 and is a lifelong drug addict... He has the social emotional skills of a 13 year old... Makes sense.
@AThinksAloud Our baby sleeps in bed with us. Rafi only slept in his bassinet a handful of times for parts of the night when we first brought him home.
We just upgraded to a firm King mattress so there's more room for the three of us.
It's been so nice.
@Krissy_MeowMom Depending on the tire that's about right. 150-220 per tire plus install/balance 25-40 a tire.
An alignment isn't a bad idea if there's any uneven wear on your old tires. If not, it's probably fine not to get one.
Gotta love (hate) the whole corporate performance review thing...
Scale of 1-5
1-2 you're fired
2.5 you're on a performance plan
3 EXCELLENT! meets expectations
3.5 Management REALLY likes you
4 yeah right
5 literally impossible
