There’s a Japanese saying that I love:
“If you feel like you’re losing everything, remember, trees lose their leaves every year, yet they still stand tall and wait for better days to come.”
This is free advice from an expensive psychologist. If you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death.
The older I get, the more I realize the power of always having something on the calendar you're excited about. It can really be anything. Difficult physical challenge, big project, fun trip, ambitious goal, whatever. It creates energy and gets you through the lows. Life hack.
High cortisol is the real reason you wake up at 3-4 AM.
It also shaves 5 years off your life — tanks testosterone, locks belly fat, literally shrinks your brain.
If I wanted to fix it without medication, here are 8 things I'd do every day:
1. No food 3 hours before bed.
This advice by Elon Musk hits hard:
“Stop being patient and start asking yourself: How can I accomplish my 10 year plan in 6 months? You will probably fail, but you'll be far ahead of the person who simply accepted it would take 10 years.”
The older I get, the more I realize making memories with family, a solid fitness routine, a job you don't hate, a group chat of great friends, annual traditions, and a productive hobby will lead to a very happy life.
@the_det_times Yes. Anyone who has been following the Pistons knows we’ve made strides. The way the Lions had progressed early on during the Goff era, the Pistons are doing it with Cade. Get him with another star/playmaker and next year the expectation should be to make it to the Finals.
@WorldWideWob Incredible season. We hit our ceiling with this roster. But as a Pistons fan I’m stoked cause we have a bonafide star in Cade the next several years and it’s on the Pistons to get him another playmaking star/supporting cast to help him in the playoffs not just the season.
