Takakeisho was Ozeki for 5 years. For the last 3, he fought through chronic neck injury that reduced his power. Determined to be yokozuna, he won 2 more yusho, until his neck prevented him from training between basho, rendering him unable to prepare. A true warrior.

Heartbroken by the retirement of The Battle Hamster, Takakeisho. This guy was 5 foot 8 and 370 lbs.

A pusher/thruster (a big man’s style) able to dominate men with greater genetic advantages through perfection of technique, rhythm, footwork, and a true aura. Carried the sport.
