The name Mallam Nasiru is the one thing keeping the APC awake at night.

Their solution? Detain him. Silence him. Erase him from politics. They believe that if they lock him up, his influence dies with him. They are wrong.

This is not law, this is persecution, this is not governance, this is fear.

They harass his allies, they arrest his associates, they think fear will break a movement.
It won’t.

You can detain one man, you cannot detain an idea, you can jail a body, you cannot jail conviction, thousands of Nigerians who believe in Mallam are still out here and we are not backing down.

Let this sink, Mallam's relevance was not gifted to him, it was earned through performance but through results, through 8 years of visible governance in Kaduna that even his enemies cannot deny. Agree with him or not, that is the record.

He is not a saint, no leader is.
But in a country where failure is rewarded and competence is punished, Mallam represents what leadership should look like, performance over propaganda.

If you think intimidation will kill this movement, you have miscalculated.

Today marks exactly 165 days since our father, our leader, and a man many of us look up to, Malam Nasir Ahmad @elrufai, has remained in detention.

165 days is not just a number.

It is 165 days away from family.
165 days of uncertainty.
165 days of pain, worry and unanswered questions.
165 days that remind us how fragile freedom can become when the machinery of the state is involved.

Whatever the allegations may be, whatever political differences may exist, justice must never become a substitute for liberty, and detention must never become punishment before judgment.

Malam El-Rufai deserves due process, dignity and a fair hearing. His family deserves to have him home. And every Nigerian deserves to know that the law applies fairly, regardless of political affiliation or status.

I write this with a heavy heart:

Enough is enough.

We respectfully call on the relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law and release Malam Nasir El-Rufai without further delay, if there is no lawful basis to continue his detention.

Our voices may be tired, our hearts may be broken, but our demand remains clear:

FREE MALAM NASIR EL-RUFAI.

A citizen deserves his freedom.
And justice must always remain justice.

It’s exactly 162 days in detention. Life has a way of testing loyalty.

Imagine, for a moment, if it were Governor Uba Sani in this situation today. Those who know Malam Nasir @elrufai would likely say he would not rest until every lawful and legitimate effort had been made to secure his freedom.

Malam has stood by many people in their political journeys. He invested his time, energy, influence, and reputation to support others, believing that loyalty and goodwill would outlive power.

Today, my sincere advice to Governor @ubasanius is this: set aside every grievance, every misunderstanding, and every political difference. Public office is temporary. The governorship is only for a season, and this worldly life is temporary too. What remains is our humanity, our conscience, and the legacy we leave behind.

Think beyond today. Think about tomorrow. Think about your children, your family, Malam’s family, and the judgment of history. There are moments in life that define a person’s character far more than holding office ever will.

No matter what anyone has done or failed to do, one truth remains: whoever has genuinely helped you has written a chapter in your life that can never be erased. You may never be able to repay every sacrifice made on your behalf, but you can always choose gratitude over resentment.

That is why I appeal that every lawful effort should be made to secure Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s release. Politics should never outweigh our shared humanity.

Power is temporary. Loyalty is remembered. Character is forever.

Today, I formally wrote a petition addressed to the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria regarding the continued detention of Mallam Nasir Ahmad @elrufai.

As a concerned Nigerian citizen, I believe every individual is entitled to the protection of their fundamental human rights, due process, and a fair legal process under the Constitution.

This petition calls for an independent review of the circumstances surrounding his detention and urges the relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law and ensure that justice is served.

Justice must always prevail.

EL-RUFAI: TOUGH ON THE JOB BUT NEVER DEFICIENT IN HUMANITY

...by the time I returned to Kaduna state, where I was born and raised in 2019, I was jobless. Though the primary aim of my coming back to the state was to undertake a Doctorate degree program at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, how I was going to do that without a job plus being a family man with twin-boys and a wife was a big source of worry for me. I started scouting for a job, in order not to be a burden onto others.

By June, 2019, I was settled in school (Zaria) with serious academic work already in place. Well, I had only 3 courses (first semester) to offer and since it was a PhD program, I was able to collapse the 3 in one day. Thus, I decided to reside in Kaduna; driving to Zaria only on Wednesdays for my lectures.

Now, I had 6 days of doing nothing really serious in a week, since my research had not started. It was this period of scouting around for opportunities to engage myself even if just to beat boredom that I got to know about Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation online - a literary foundation.

I decided to take a shot by turning in an application to serve as a volunteer. Being the operational head of the foundation, Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza El-Rufai saw my CV and invited me for an interview. To cut short the story, at the interview, she was impressed and decided I should start work immediately. This happened without any connection, referral or introduction by any “powerful person”.

I started work as a volunteer and I was assigned various important tasks, which by the grace of God, I accomplished successfully. After 3 months, I was engaged fully as Program Officer and later, I rose to become a Manager.

It was in the course of working at the foundation that I met His Excellency, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, then serving as governor of Kaduna State. My first meeting with him was when he came to inspect the Hamza El-Rufi Public Library I set up. One thing that stunned me and endeared him further to me, was his humble disposition and willingness to learn as he asked me questions and questioned my answers until we arrived at an answer that was unquestionable and maybe, a question that was unanswerable. I left that day with a different impression about the person of Nasir El-Rufai.

Next meeting was in Her Excellency's private sitting room in Kaduna state government house. While I was doing a task for Her Excellency on her computer, the then Governor walked in solemnly and stood behind me for a while before I even noticed he was there. He later invited me to have lunch with him and of course, who would say no to lunch with the “almighty" governor? In as much as he tried to make me feel comfortable at the table, I remained uneasy till lunch ended. One thing that has kept me in admiration of His Excellency is his ability to remember people and call them by their names. After my first meeting with him, he has never missed the name "Terna". This means a lot, particularly within our existential reality.

By November, 2019, I wanted to open a Restaurant and Bakery in Kaduna; I told Her Excellency about it and she supported in an uncommon way. In fact, she was there with some Commissioners to perform the opening ceremony and she spoke well of me before my guests.

In February, 2020, I was done with my PhD course work and I came back to report and appreciate Her Excellency for her support. It was at that point that she encouraged me to go into lecturing and facilitated my appointment as a lecturer with the Kaduna State University, Kaduna through a meritorious process.

Again, by December, 2020, my son, Justin was to undergo a surgical procedure at the National Hospital, Abuja and because it was around Christmas, we looked for blood all round without success. I was ready to pay any amount but found none.

BREAKING: Islamiyya Teacher, El-Rufai Supporter, Vocal Government Critic Reportedly Arrested While Teaching.

An Islamiyya school teacher and outspoken social media commentator, Ammar Rigasa, has reportedly been arrested by operatives of an undisclosed security agency.

According to information received, the operatives allegedly stormed the school where Ammar was conducting a lesson and took him away in the presence of his students.

Ammar is widely known for his support of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and for his consistent criticism of the APC-led government on social media.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact agency responsible for the arrest, Ammar’s whereabouts, and the reason for his detention have not been officially confirmed.

Efforts are ongoing to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident and establish where he is being held.

So if at the end of the day, Elrufai is pronounced not guilty by the courts , how do we justify the 140 days detention? Was it to extract information from him? Or is he such a flight risk? Some of these things make zero sense
