UX/Product Designers in the UK π¬π§
Finding a job is pretty tedious tbh:
β’ too many sites
β’ not always catered to designers
β’ the best roles aren't always on the big job sites
So I built a job board JUST for designers:
β’ pulls jobs from across the web
β’ shows average salaries & day rates
β’ updated daily
Let me know what you think β
Hey Chris. I would focus on what the user is trying to achieve and then build the UI around that.
Assuming I've understood your product correctly, the report and chat are just different ways to present data insights.
Maybe a single page with the report and a chat down the side could be enough, rather than two separate tabs.
I drop in my files, see my generated report and I can then ask questions about the data using chat all from one screen.
@designbyaron For me the biggest challenge for these type of tools is user testing. It's hard to simulate a real environment with a prototype unless you're working with real data.
I'm hoping AI will help with this as prototypes become more realistic.
I'll kick things off.
Problem: Low newsletter sign-up rate on https://t.co/pm5ZqTtdcs
Changes made:
1. Show pop up after a user clicks 'Apply' to target higher intent users
2. Chang copy to focus on the value of the newsletter, not just 'joining a list'
3. Stripped form down to just the email field
Outcome: Already seen a small uplift in sign-ups π
Still here to help. Drop a link or screenshot below! π
Currently waiting for Claude Code to finish doing his thing.
While I wait, I'm offering UX/design advice for anyone building.
Drop a link/screenshot below with your burning UX question. Iβll reply to each one with a couple of tips! π
@iaaaaan Nice idea Ian! I do find I keep having to come back to VS Code and check up on the different Claude instances.
Any UX/design questions you'd like to get my opinion on?
@_heyrico Gut reaction, option 1. Second option felt a bit overwhelming and didn't look like attached files. I had to figure out what was going on.
Also not sure how valuable showing the number of lines/rows/columns is in a file.
@SkyLeo0128@dramaricic I havenβt used it much since I started using Claude Code. Only for a few smaller projects, but havenβt had issues with it yet.
I always found it a lot easier to work with when I was writing more of the code myself.
@thekevinqi Thanks for the feedback Kevin! It might be because the job board is UK focused for now. Hopefully Iβll expand to other countries if thereβs demand
Stumbled on https://t.co/IY9DXelST8 by @pertti_studio. Cool little site to discover how people are building their projects.
For anyone who's curious, I published my tech stack for UX Gigs there: https://t.co/GgFGD4JGv7
