With the arts and nature as our guide, I was so fortunate to join the Wabanaki people as they welcomed a new day with a sunrise performance featuring @YoYo_Ma and Wabanaki performers.
i emailed my library about why celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday was no good, complete with all of @consciouskidlib's amazing research. Their reply? "Thanks for your thoughts" #illtryagaintomorrow#covertwhitesupremacy
May one day the Presidential inauguration acknowledge the Piscataway people on whose land the ceremony takes place rather than erase every Indigenous Nations in our country with the settler theme song This Land is Your Land.
We have a long way to go.
Somehow we weathered and witnessed
A nation that isn't broken
but simply unfinished
There is always light
if only we're brave enough to see it
if only we're brave enough to be it.

Betsy DeVos has never done her job to help America’s students. It doesn’t surprise me one bit that she’d rather quit than do her job to help invoke the 25th Amendment.
Good riddance, Betsy. You were the worst Secretary of Education ever. https://t.co/im1IgGQVSp
Hundreds of thousands of DC residents had to endure a coup in their backyard today, go into curfew at 6pm, and fear for their personal safety. None of them have any representation in Congress.
a bunch of white men thinking they can act like they are at a party and do whatever they want without consequence BECAUSE they do not face consequences in the country. we are all complicit because we all let white boys get away with things.
I wake up every day to the reality that I live in a country that thinks my life is less valuable than it would be if I were white. This was referendum on the potential for a fundamental shift in that perspective. The race might be too close to call but projected winner is racism.
