4/4 We have had at least three important pieces of mail never arrive in the past year.

What. On earth. Is going on? Is it our local post office, holding and losing our mail? Is it nationwide? Why is the service so bad?

@USPS 1/4 I received a warning notice about tall weeds from a town where I have a rental property. They offer 10 days to cure the problem. The letter is postmarked May 19th. It arrived today, May 27th. They mailed it from an office 20 miles from my home.

3/4 My neighbors had a plumbing leak, and the insurance company mailed them a check a few weeks ago. It never arrived.

A couple of years ago a different niece mailed her wedding invitations from Florida to Texas. It took 3 months to arrive.

Police in Kentucky killed a man after his family called 911 during a mental health crisis. Desman LaDuke was alone in his home when he was shot by an officer who was positioned outside. Any requests by Desman's family to go inside and talk to him before he was shot was denied.

It can take actual experience to get that life will never be the same, and how important it is to be attuned to this new human. Moms get a head start, their lives change earlier.

If she nurses she also spends far more time with the baby. Experience=what appears to be "maternal instinct". But dads CAN catch up!

Pre-Roe, I was 8 yrs old. I came home from school to find my Mom lying in a puddle of blood. She was weak & asked me to call a neighbor. She was miscarrying, but the embryo would not abort. For 48 hours, she bled while doctors transfused blood, waiting. Abortions were illegal.
