I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace prize. The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and paves the way for peace & human development in the subcontinent.
Fascinating- official confirmation on how Imran Khan was ousted, how the U.S. and Pakistan army were in cahoots and why it explains the new coziness between Asim Munir and the Trump administration
Sometimes you'll hear Pakistanis say that there was a coherent geographic unit consistent w/ modern Pakistan that was created by the mountains & Indus River basin that long predates the Mughals, British India, or even Islam. This is a good historical example for that argument.
Gulf Air setting new lows in customer service. Refund requested April 2 → promised 14–21 days → waited over a month → now told it wasn’t processed at all. New timeline? 40–60 days. How is this okay? @GulfAir
Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, suffers from a remarkable and frankly embarrassing deficit of five-star hospitality infrastructure. A city of its geopolitical stature, hosting foreign dignitaries, multilateral delegations, diplomatic missions, and international business travellers on a daily basis, can only offer two operational five-star properties to its guests. That is not a hospitality market. That is a waiting room.
The developments under construction at the new Islamabad International Airport precinct are welcome in principle, yet deeply misguided in execution. Concentrating luxury hotel inventory at an airport corridor serves transit passengers and cargo logistics executives, not the diplomats, investors, and heads of delegation who require proximity to the Blue Area, the Diplomatic Enclave, and the Parliament. Airport hotels are a convenience product. A capital city requires a prestige product, and prestige belongs in the city centre.
The planning rationale, such as it is, appears to reflect neither demand analysis nor strategic urban vision. Islamabad's master plan, conceived under the stewardship of Constantinos Doxiadis, was designed with civic grandeur as its organising principle. That ambition deserves to be matched with hospitality infrastructure of equivalent calibre. Sector F-7, F-6, and the broader Blue Area corridor are natural homes for internationally branded five-star properties, positioned to serve the embassies, the corporate headquarters, and the conference circuit that the city genuinely attracts.
Pakistan's ambitions to position itself as a regional investment destination, a mediator of consequence, and a hub for international dialogue will continue to be undermined so long as a visiting CEO or a foreign minister cannot find a room worthy of the meeting he has flown in to attend. Hospitality infrastructure is not a luxury afterthought. It is sovereign soft power, and Islamabad is currently squandering it.
How Pakistan made the world over 3 trillion dollars richer
On April 7, the world edged toward Trump's 8pm ultimatum that "a whole civilization will die tonight." By mid-afternoon, Polymarket gave less than a 5% chance for a ceasefire. But then in a flurry of last-minute diplomacy led by Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif, ceasefire odds shifted from near-impossibility to 100%, as both U.S. and Iranian leadership publicly acknowledged the important role played by Pakistan.
The sharp shift in probability of ceasefire from near-zero to certainty, allows us to estimate cleanly the market value of Pakistan's successful diplomacy. There was a sharp jump of 2.9% in S&P500 around the ceasefire announcement. The reaction was similar the world over.
Global markets represent about $125T, so a 2.9% jump represents a gain of 3.6 trillion dollars for the world. Pakistan helped create TEN times its own GDP for the world!
For me, the best part is not the trillions of dollar, but seeing Pakistan on the world stage as a peace maker.
I hope Pakistan runs with this new identity by promoting peace not only abroad, but also at home. That means moving away from politics of division and exclusion, and treating every citizen as its own.
With the greatest humility, I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.
Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability. We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days!

Why call a meeting of your Shia Ulema council only to threaten them and tell them Pakistan is not their country? At least they didn’t desire to nominate a pedophile with a Nobel Peace Prize. At least they value the lives of their fellow Pakistanis. At least their Qibla is Makkah and not Washington!
I guarantee you after what Trump has done that Americans are going to familiarize themselves with Khamanei and come to see him as way more down to earth than any of their own leaders.
Iran is one of the most ancient civilisation in the world. A cradle of art, culture, cinema, poetry & spirituality. To see it standing alone, wounded yet relentless, in its fight against the most powerful genocide empire of our time, is so extraordinary. We are witnessing history
US: “It was a preemptive attack on Iran”
Pentagon: “No sign that Iran was going to attack first”
US: “No but if Israel attacked Iran, then Iran would have attacked us, so we preemptively attacked them first” 🤡
This is beyond satire.
Bombing and Killing Children in Elementary School and telling their parents to rise up and overthrow their Government is a bad script that can’t be used even in the most dumbest of movies.
Karachi airport is now fully occupied due to several diverted international flights in the region landing in Karachi until the situation improves in the Middle East.
CCD is a slaughter house not a crime control unit. Whether one is arrested in a raid, surrenders voluntarily and publicly or is extradited from a foreign country via Interpol all end up dead while in custody of CCD.
The license to kill has been given by @MaryamNSharif who not only sanctions CCD actions but celebrates the terror they have instilled in citizens. She along with CCD incharge is directly responsible for all these extra judicial murders.
In any civilized country with rule of law the CM would be facing trial. However, things won't always remain the same. They never do. These dead bodies will haunt her for the rest of her political career.
