£49.18 is the standard weekly allowance for asylum seekers.
It's reduced to £9.95 if meals are included with accommodation.
You need a national insurance number to claim benefits or work. Asylum seekers do not have one.

“And more than a third of children under two are acutely malnourished. That means they are at risk of death."
@RishiSunak how can you possibly support this…? https://t.co/oejAxuz6mG
I actually agree with much of what Rishi Sunak said.
The problem is, it is Conservative politicians who are fanning the flame of division and they still retain the whip, and it is Conservative foreign policy which is driving a spear through our nation's integrity while children are bombed and being starved in Gaza.
The rise of antisemitism and islamophobia are distressing and need to be reversed. We have to do better as a country, but that isn't helped by divisive Conservative politicians and poor foreign policy choices.
It’s possible to totally condemn actions of Hamas, as I do, & still believe humanitarian emergency in Gaza is appalling. UK Govt must call on Israel to show restraint, lift blockade, allow aid to reach civilians & guarantee safe passage out for medical care #ceasefire#Palestine
We may be witnessing the total obliteration of Gaza.
Political leaders refusing to speak out should feel eternal shame over the horror they are allowing to unfold.
Those of us who believe in peace cannot stay silent. We must say to the Palestinian people: you are not alone.
Hey @campbellclaret are you any good at join-the-dots?

A powerful female politician resigns: she was unfulfilled because she never became a mother.
A mother disappears: she was a hormonal (“hysterical”)alcoholic.
A headteacher is murdered: she emasculated the husband who killed her.

"To blame asylum seekers in hotels for being there, when the system has completely failed, seems to be encouraging people to go round there with hammers, smash up police cars and say it's your fault you're here."
Ian Hislop tears into Robert Jenrick #BBCQT
His name is Keenan Anderson, and he was a high school teacher. Police tased Keenan to death after he was involved in a traffic accident. They treat us worse than animals.
In 2010, the UK had 66 foodbanks.
Today, there are at least 2,000 – more than the total number of McDonald’s.

#Phillips(04th July) - Will you be getting rid of your mask on the 19th of July?
Robert Jenrick - I will..
#Marr(18th July) - You said you'd take your mask off at the first possible opportunity?
Robert Jenrick - I didn't say that on #Phillips 🤔
